I never did post them last April. You all inspired me to learn to sew and applique. I think I did ok for a first timer!

Here are the outfits I made DD for Disney World. I can't wait to get started for this trip.

Awesome job!!! WWAAAYYYY CUTE!!!

You know my DH is real supportive of my sewing also. He is the one who talked me into getting the machine that does embroidery. I was just going to get a plain one. The only thing that bugs him is that I keep buying fabric. He doesn't understand my obsession with fabric.

I think all husbands do not understand the need to hord fabric!!!!:lmao:

I think all husbands do not understand the need to hord fabric!!!!:lmao:
I've tried to explain it to him and he just doesn't get it. My arguments were, "I don't have anything like this," "If I have the fabric on hand then I will be able to sew anything at anytime," "It saves time to have all kinds of fabric on hand," "What if I need to make something for someone with no notice?" None of these worked on him.

I've been busy sewing!! I did DS's set today, and worked on DD's hat ALL afternoon yeterdy!! I used the newsboy/cloche attern from YCMT and the sizing is waaay off! First on was TINY, second one was HUGE and the last one was wearable. Still a little big but not too bad. (Of course DD kept pulling the thing over her eyes!!) I swear I got DS's set done in the same time it took to get the hat "right".

So cute! I love the applique on the skirt!

My emotional see saw continues tonight - our friends from church who have been trying to adopt got word today that the 8 year old boy they had chosen off a wait list would be ready for them to go and pick up in 6 weeks!!!!!!!!!! Woo Hoo!!!!!!!
What wonderful news!

Then, I made this one for her first day of Kindergarten.

Those are wonderful!!!! I really love the AK one! Lots of us have Kindergarteners this year.

Finally uploaded pictures of the christmas dress I made for Hannah. Sorry that I am so late. Thank you to Jen for the bows. I was stunned at how beautiful they are!
I had some trouble with the smocked insert. I think it would have gone better had I redrafted the top of the pattern to be straight. I didn't think of that until I was too far in! it was really hard getting the seam allowance to lay correctly so it wouldn't make my top row of smocking look crooked. In the end I just gave up and let it be crooked. :headache:

th_IMG_3309.jpg
Beautiful!!!! I love the trees on the hem!

Okay...I won't complain any further about it being 19 here!
But I will!

BUT, last night I told him it was either the machine or the thread, so we ran right out and got some Coats & Clark and I had no problems after that. ( I had cheap thread from wal-mart on it before that and I think that may have been causing the problems.)
I can't even use Coats & Clark in my Viking. I have to get the Gutterman.

DH doesn't mind how much I spend on fabric as long as I use it, and don't hoard it....Which is a little frustrating because you all KNOW there are times when you see something perfect and don't know what you want to do with it yet....

But overall I really can't complain.

I have actually tried to stop acquiring more fabric, but then it just keeps coming. I accidentally won $25 worth of fabric, for Christmas I was given a gift card to Hancock Fabrics and DH's grandma is giving me her stash. So see sometimes it's not my fault.

I'm Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!! Did ya miss me?!?!?!?
Karen, I am glad you are back you were very much so missed.
Hey all I need some serious prayers and a miracle
My dh lost his job in oct (still does not have one Even with a bachelors degree in acct and going to school for his masters in HR) Ironic Huh?
we had to file for Chapt 13 (due to some serious identity theft )
and now just today we got our eviction notice on our house , we have to be out by feb 2nd . we are behind 3 months on our mortgage (which at this point they were supposed to be working things out for us )

I am at a loss and i just want to curl in a ball ..
It is such a hard time for most of the nation right now. I am praying for your family.
yes...the bowling shirt pattern is perfect for matchy siblings...
PA070116.jpg

PA070117.jpg
I just love making the bowling shirt, it is easy and fun to make. So many great options from just one pattern. These are great.

I made Grace the "Miss Molly Sundress" from the YCMT website. She is going to wear it to Animal Kingdom in Feb.

laurascamerafileonheraccount040.jpg

I am just starting to sew again after 15 years. I am no where near as good as you guys are. I am amazed at the talent you all have.

Okay, I know I could browse the bazillion pictures on photobucket, but I doubt any of the pics are categorized for what I'm looking for...

Would any of you mind posting pics of your customs for 6-8 year old girls? I see a lot of stuff on here that's so cute, but a lot of it is for the younger crowd. I'm trying to think ahead of what my DD will want to wear when we go next October.

THANKS!

Daniel - his follow up MRI done yesterday as a follow up from last week when they saw a "dark spot" where the tumor had been came back CLEAN!!!! YAY!!! We were concerned the tumor was growing back, but it was just blood from the surgery and it is gone!!! YAY!!! Anyway, he had his chemo and radiation today. I also found out they have a 50 dollar copay for EACH DR AND THERAPY VISIT!!!! UGH!!! BUT, since Daniel's dad was laid off right before Christmas, they will qualify for a special Nemours Grant from the hospital and it will all be covered 100%

I feel so happy for Daniel and so sad for Jenn at the same time - - - thanks for listening.......
Wendy, thanks for the update on Daniel. How are his gross motor skills coming along? I am sorry for your friend. Prayers being said.
Now, why am I aggitated? Because the bus stop is one house to the right of us (the one we go to) and the other is one house to the left, BUT if we went to the other one I could totally watch the bus drive by, go down and turn around and then go outside instead of standing in the cold. Wouldn't that be great! Yep, sure would! Of course the ISSUE is that this is NOT a bus stop!!!! And he is not supposed to wait there but come to the REAL bus stop!
Thanks for listening.
It seems they thing they have entitlement to preferred bus stops. Not very fair at all. You have every right to be upset. It seems that the people who follow the rules should be rewarded not the other way around. I hope you get this resolved.

I have absolutely nowhere to go esp. with a family of 7 .
i am so sorry to come here and vent but i really needed to say something .

Please pray for some kind of miracle, Not for me but for my 5 children. I feel horrible even asking because i know there are better places that need your prayers

I tried to start a etsy shop and sell what i could but without money for fabric and findings that makes it hard, Plus i know the economy is so horrible....
My kids know that something is up but don't know exactly what it is ...
Life is just a rollercoaster for me right now ...

 I'll be praying for you. You are living one of my personal nightmares right now. I hope things get better for both of us soon.

Very very nice and wonderful clothing. Did you have a good trip?

I don't have the stripwork, but I do use the simply sweet all the time. It has two bodice options, jumper and halter, and different tie options too. I use the halter one all the time, mostly for tops.

There is that cute little girl and the little dog did get into the picture again. They have so much character and are just part of the family. I like the top! You know you have mad skilz!

Couldn't believe how quiet you all were yesterday and how quickly I was getting caught up. Guess I should have know that you moved. :rolleyes1

I keep telling myself that I will post my Christmas project once I get caught up and have a chance to comment on all the fabulous stuff everyone had made, but I can see that that may never happen, so I'm going to go ahead and post.

Here is Megan's Christmas Vida - we both loved how this turned out.

These are great! Thanks! I couldn't go back and find the quote, but I saw someone else mention just recently that you can get a bundle of the bowling shirt, the raglan shirt, and the easy-fit pants I think is what they were. I will have to look into that.

Yes, that is bundled. I bought it for the Bowling shirt last month and thought that I better get the bundle just in case. I am glad I did, cause now I have made 2 prs of easy fits for PJ's for my boys and 1 raglan hoodie. the patterns are great.

Finally uploaded pictures of the christmas dress I made for Hannah. Sorry that I am so late. Thank you to Jen for the bows. I was stunned at how beautiful they are!

looks great. The thing about crooked is that it is never noticeable to others, and especially not when it is worn by a moving child.

It's -30 here today with the windchill. Ugh.

I'll have plenty of time to comment the latest creations, after I drop the kids off at school (it's indoor recess all this week, so they'll be climbing the walls . . .) I'm lighting a fire in the fireplace, hunkering down with a HUGE coffee and dreaming of Disney!

Stephanie

Just shy of -40 here (which is the same in Celcius and Farenheit), and school busses were cancelled as it was too cold for them to start. DH is home with them and the fire is burning.

I made Grace the "Miss Molly Sundress" from the YCMT website. She is going to wear it to Animal Kingdom in Feb.

Hay! Finally we are warmer than most places in the nation. We are expecting to be near 30 today! I am going outside to play this afternoon. It hasn't snowed since Sat night and it has been warm. After so much snow and sub zero I am enjoying bragging rights.

Sorry for everyone who is having such cold. It really is no fun at all.

I am trying to use some of the fabric I have purchased without knowing what I am going to make. Because the city is 2 hours one way when I am there I buy fabric not knowing. I am taking a break now as it just isn't in the budget. I want a bunch of different fabrics so I can make Big Give outfits without having to go to the city.

Couldn't believe how quiet you all were yesterday and how quickly I was getting caught up. Guess I should have know that you moved. :rolleyes1

Apron for the kids' daycare provider. Her favorite color is orange so that has a lot to do with the fabric choices. You can't really tell from the pictures but the strip across the front is a big divided pocket. It was reversible.

I am Obsessive - Compulsive. I admit it, not proud of it but it is what it is.

I signed up yesterday for the TinyTreasures Big Give. I finished the outfit today (mostly, I just have to hand sew on the buttons.) I am hoping that mom was right when she said Isabella loves Pink.:cutie: :cutie: :cutie:

th_PinkMickey003.jpg

The rick rack looks straighter in person but looks wonky here.

This is pinkalicious!! So cute!

I'm late but I'm here :) and I'm up to date on this thread (now to go back and catch up on the other).

I love the outfits that have been posted - fantastic :)

So...I get the Bad Mama award this week :( Izzy ended up at A&E on Sunday (the day of her party :headache: ) as she stood on a sewing needle and it went right through her foot (like RIGHT THROUGH her foot ) :( - and it wasn't the sharp end she stood on it was the eye end - I felt horrible. They managed to get it out with some local and tweezers and she still made it home in time for her party (which I think she was more upset about missing than the darn needle skewered through her foot :confused3 ).

I have no idea how the needle got in our lounge as I have my own sewing room . So lesson learnt...time to make some more pin cushions I think.

I cringed reading this!!! Your dd will definitely be over it sooner than you. I had to take Julia to the ER a couple of months ago and I felt like bad mother of the year. She needed only a couple of stitches but I kept saying to myself "If I had only been paying closer attention."

Thanks Adi......

And just as a reminder...

I'm Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!! Did ya miss me?!?!?!?

LOVE ALL THE NEW STUFF!
Did you have a great time?!

Hi Friends,

Daniel - his follow up MRI done yesterday as a follow up from last week when they saw a "dark spot" where the tumor had been came back CLEAN!!!! YAY!!! We were concerned the tumor was growing back, but it was just blood from the surgery and it is gone!!! YAY!!! Anyway, he had his chemo and radiation today. BUT, since Daniel's dad was laid off right before Christmas, they will qualify for a special Nemours Grant from the hospital and it will all be covered 100%

This morning at work, my BFF and I got word that one of our dear friends that used to work with us before she moved out to Pittsburg to marry her true love and get married lost her baby. She is 29 years old - married about 2 years. The baby was very healthy, happy, cooing, rolling etc - went to bed last night with out anything differnt - she died of SIDS at 4 months old. They went to get her this morning and she was gone.......I just cant believe it,,,soooooooo sad.....our friend's mom called us to let us know what had happened. I was just facebooking with her on Sunday about snow and the baby and how happy they all were and how nice Jillian's first Christmas was.:sad1:

I feel so happy for Daniel and so sad for Jenn at the same time - - - thanks for listening.......
That is fantastic about Daniel!
Extremely sad about your BFF. I will keep her family in my prayers during their hard days ahead.

I think it is adorable!!

I am almost done, I promise!

Megan had been asking for some "button up flannel pajamas" so I made a matching set for her and Emily. I used CarlaC's bowling shirt pattern and just extended the arm length. It was very easy!
