Could you make Lily a Princess Leah???? Isnt their a picture of Minnie wearing that outfit? Little Einsteins was big at DHS when we were there a month ago.....I'd love to see your MMCH outfit though!!!!

Jeanne-Weren't you the one who made the Storm Trooper shirt? If so could you post a pic of it? I was going to see if DH would like to have one for our trip in October. He likes your Walt shirt too. :thumbsup2 I might actually get some customs on him this year.:cool1:

I think that is the pillowcase I used for this:

I love the green fabric you added to the pillowcase. It's a great combination.
I used Carla's Simply Sweet pattern--the halter version. I just used the pillowcase, I did not applique it.

More great fabric combinations and that little girl is adorable.
Here are some shirts I worked REALLY hard on! :rotfl2: They are for DH, myself, and 2 each for the boys. I bought some shirts on clearance at Walmart and got my shirt at Old Navy and ironed on the Mickey patches I got on :wizard:

Okay, now these I really DID work on, slave over even...

Can you tell what this is supposed to be? This is my big Walt fan

I bought Jayden this hoodie and she loved it so much I made her a shirt to match. It involved cramming a hoodie into my scanner/copier...

I love them all! Great job on the Walt shirt very original. I think the CM's will love it. The hoodie and matching tee are adorable! So cute for a tween.

Thanks! She's doing much better now! I made her a Pooh hoodie too but she's curled up on the couch in it. I'll take a photo later.

Thanks!

I got some at JoAnn's.

Thanks!

How frustrating! Hope its a quick and easy fix!

Thanks! The doll dress is for a

Cute!

They look great!

That Walt shirt is awesome! My DS is a Walt fan too. I give my kids a $25 spending budget per trip. On our last trip he bought a matted print of Walt drawing Mickey with Walt's autograph on the mat. His birthday was last Saturday and I bought him a canvas of Oswald the Lucky Rabbit for his room-it was on sale at the Disney Store for $6. When he saw your shirt he said "WOW! Did someone's Mom make that?" When I said yes he said "WOAH!!"

Pirate Minnie looks awesome too!

That's such a nice compliment! I knew someone else on here had a Walt appreciating DS!

Thank you ALL so much for the supportive comments and PMs- it really does help!!!

Ok, so DD2 needed new shoes... something for playing in, and this is what we came home with......
[IMG]http://www.shoebuy.com/pi/strid/strid231078_131126_jb.jpg
Are they awful? or cute?
Ok, back to what I should be doing today :)
My DD had these (Stride Rite) last year and LOVED them and so did I. She wore them alot- but then again, she doesnt wear red much. She got rave compliments everywhere she went. They are too small now and didnt carry them in her size when we went back in, so the next size up was sort of a pink two tone- not half as much fun IMO. She still tries to steal them out of my "outgrown clothes" box I keep in the bottom of her closet. Good support for an open shoe, comfy like a sneaker, but cuter and a little more dressy than a sneak.

Petti question-
If I want something that is going to add poof to my 2.5yr olds dresses- should I just buy a petticoat that white with the full slip? I know I got a simple slip once to wear understuff that had a pretty lace that peaked out and it was constantly sliding down.

Tom- I simply LOVE the Mickey-Pluto dress with the pinwheel squares- so original!!! What pattern do you use for the underdress? I have seen some like it on ebay.

Wendy- love the horse cord jumper!

As for my Dad- well the MRI results are inconclusive on if theres a tumor where they think it is in his spine. However, he got his PSA level test back today and I know he was concerned it would jump (It was a 4 a couple months ago) he thought it might go as high as a 12. It has skyrocketed to 171!!! So they know there is a tumor, and they are also trying to figure out if he has lymphoma or lukemia. Apparently his urologist is away this week and he is the one calling the shots at the moment and he is the only one who is dessenting in the group. The hormone shot he was supposed to get was post poned by the fill in Dr and he is being given an oral hormone at the moment, and will probably have to wait for his Doc to return next week to get the shot. The pain is moving now, not just his spine, but his leg, etc and the pain meds are wearing off sooner than he would expect.

I went and saw one of my Docs today and I have been told- no more large stores, no grocery shopping, malls, etc, not walking, etc and basically rest, rest, rest in order to keep pain to a minimum, pubic bone is wreaking havoc on everything from my tailbone to my neck, spine, hips. etc...and they want me back on Friday. I get adjusted and that helps some. I am 22 weeks now and it seems like May 25th is a long way off.

Im still an emotional roller coaster. I wanted to sew in the worst way this morning to get my mind off my Dad and of course I could not find the power cord to my machine, I finally found it, but wore myself out looking for it, I spent the afternoon in bed, sleeping and getting up to pee. Bah! I love this baby inside me, but I really hate this pregnancy.

On a brighter note- I am very excited to finally get adult sized bedroom furniture- or at least chest of drawers, 2- one for me and one for DH, my DD2 is enheriting the dresser I have had since I was 3!!! They are arriving tomorrow. Hooray! So I really hope to be able to tackle my Feliz tomorrow morning. I'm putting my grumpy self to bed by no later than 10 tonight.:sad2:

I made this today! It's for my DD to wear on Chinese New Year. It's not quite complete. The pattern calls for a ribbon tie closure. I'm not sure that I like the idea of that. I'm afraid that it'll fall off if it comes untied. I'm thinking of adding a button closure that is covered with a big sash bow. OR a frog type closure. I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet.

Before you buy one- I think I have one that size that Morgan wore for about 10 minutes for a picture. If you want I can send it to you. (I think I even know where it is) :rotfl:

I'll PM you the image I used if you want it.
Could I get a copy of that image? Not that I could do it. I had a rough time with the inside of the "P" on "Pooh". How did you do Walt's fingers?

I am convinced my DS will be my fanatic when he grows up. He loves all the classic stuff like Carousel of Progress and TTA. He will be heartbroken when he finds out that not only will Space Mountain be closed when we go in May but so will TTA. He also loves One Man's Dream of course!

Is the pattern for this at YCMT?
Great fabric choices. A frog type would be cute...

That is a very pretty dress. I have made three of these so far. One I did with a ribbon closure that went through a button hole. That stayed closed. I also did one with snaps and one with buttons and they both did just fine. A frog closure would be very cute on that dress. Your DD is very lucky.

Let's just say those fingers looked a little better before I stitched around them :rotfl2: For Walt's hand I just switched my stitch width from 3.5 to 1.5 and went veeeery carefully.

I believe it is Sherri/patchwork kids' pattern on YCMT

Yay for DHs that wear customs! Mine wears a Jack Skellington shirt I made him. Since he doesn't really do any of the packing, I'm thinking he'd wear pretty much whatever I made. :rotfl2:

What pattern is this? Not that I can tackle anything else, but I just love the wrap style. Maybe when Megan is bigger. I also really love this fabric!!

have you seen this?

I'm not a regular poster on the DIS, but I lurk a lot. I don't sew (just bought myself a machine and I'm going to try to self teach) but I can tell that you ladies put some hard work into your stuff, and it is all WONDERFUL! I aspire to be sewing half as good as you ladies in about, 5 years? :rotfl:

One can hope anyway!
Thanks for all the inspiration!

YES! This is a pattern from YCMT. The author is PatchworKids. It's called The Wrap Top & Dress. I was surprised at how quickly this went together. It didn't more than a few hours. I've never purchased from this author before, but I liked this style, so I thought I'd give it a try. I'm glad I did.

You know what I do all of the packing too and I think that if all I packed him was customs he would wear them.

You can do it. We know you can. Lots of people start out not knowing anything about sewing and then within a month or so they are making some beautiful clothes for their little ones.

I finished my biggive outfit for Avy.

I bought the shirt and then made the skirt to go with it. I hope she likes it. I forgot to take off the sticker when I took the picture. Oops.

This is the material I am using to make an outfit for Mya's Big Give.

Here is the material for Megan's V-Day skirt. Its cut out, and partially pinned, but not sewn yet.
Jan_misc012.jpg

I found this material at a small local fabric shop and fell in love with it.

I am going to make an outfit for Megan for Texas Independance Day. I can't wait.

More pictures in a few minutes.
