Does anyone know where I can get some Wall E Fabric? I was thinking for DS birthday party I would make the kids each a cute t shirt :goodvibes

I know this wasn't for me, but I thought I could answer! Kadie wore saltwater sandals to Disneyland many times!! They are one of our favorites!!

Even I used to wear saltwater sandals to DL all the time, before my doctor told me I wasn't allowed to wear them anymore. Best shoes ever.

I don't think I posted this near halloween, but this is my DGD 2 halloweens ago!

That is a cute picture and your DGD makes an adorable pirate.
That is close to the one that was posted. This one was made with the skull fabric that has bows on the skulls. I think that the skirt part was attached to the corset.

Hancock Fabrics has the Lime Green Wall-E fabric and the one that is Camo Green colored.

I have ordered from ebay and got at my friends Hancock's in NC (I am in GA). I also got a different yard at Joann's one time but it was $8.99 a yard! :confused3

Ok totally not clothing but I made some progress this weekend. I wanted to make a baby quilt for a couple at our church having their first. They are really young and have only been married for a year or so so they're still just starting out. I think they're 22 or so...anyway, I got to start it Friday, got it finished yesterday:

I'm gonna have to make some of those skirts for my DD. She hates wearing pants. Maybe once I clear out a couple of projects in my sewing room my DH won't cringe if he sees me start something new.
Wow! You are good! I love it:)

I think we should all get together for the movie night at the fort with chip n dale and make smores!!! ::yes::
Ohh!! I would love to meet up with you guys! We will be there then too!

I found this great mickey fabric....and of course I can't save the picture so I am posting the site.

Here is some minnie also......... http://www.thefabricfairy.com/Your-Favorite-Girl-Mouse-Knit-Fabric-p/1247.htm

It's description is Aloha-mouse cotton knit fabric...I am considering buying some.

Check it out!
I put the Aloha mickey in my cart last week. I was thinking of making a farbenmix Olivia with it.

I just looked at CarlaC's patterns. Too cute!!! I want to do one of the bundles. I wish there was a make your own bundle. I want the stripwork jumper, patchwork twirl and simply sweet :) Oh, I want the easy fit pants too :)
I wish there was a make your own bundle too. I have 1 pattern in all the bundles.

I can't agree more about CarlaC's patterns. I use them all the time!
I don't think I have picked up a commercial pattern in a couple of years now, except for the Farbenmix ones.
Speaking of Carla's patterns. I just finished this Simply Sweet dress for our trip. Four down, a couple of more to go!
I also used the quilting block tutorial on YCMT's blog to add the hem detail.

No model today, she is too busy playing with her Mickey Mouse Clubhouse stuff to give me any free time!:rotfl:
Such a great idea! And execution!!

okay "friends" i have a super strange request...

My daughter has a report on Tennessee. One of the pages she has to interview someone from there, who no longer lives there...only we know no one. is anyone willing to answer these questions for my 9 year old daughter?

1. Name
2. Where did u live in the state?
3. What is the state like?
4. Why did u live there?
5. What were the main products grown or made in your state?
6. What kinds of work did you or your family do?
7. What did you do for recreation?
8. What did you like least about the state?
9. What did you like most about the state?
10. How is it different from the state you live in now?
11 What else would you like to tell me about the state?

Thank you so much for your time, we reallly appreciate it.

-Michelle (and Chianna)
My Brother just moved back home from TN. (like last week). I will ask him to answer these and then send them to you!

Steph, I love Megan's sporty dress! So cute!

Here is Lily's Pooh dress I made a few days ago. I'm not so sure I love the pants. They need a pink ruffle to coordinate with the top/dress. Maybe it will be sooooo warm in Florida she will need shorts under instead. :thumbsup2 I CASEd this a bit from something I saw on here 100 years ago. And yes, she does have a big scratch under her right eye. She was lying on my bedroom floor yesterday when Luke tripped on her head :confused3

DSCN3553-1.jpg

She looks so cute! Is that the Pooh wall hanging panel that was in the red tag fabrics at JoAnn? I bought some to use for a big give. Great idea!

I just want you to know I'll be praying!

Here is my contribution to the Simply Sweet Marathon Sunday!
2009-01-1817-31-34_0005.jpg

I think I'm gonna start another - maybe for Easter. I'm going tomorrow to get Wall-E fabric for my big give outfit, so I'm hoping to get that done.
Perfect! It looks great.

I finally have some pictures of the outfits I have been working on for the last week. We are headed to WDW in March. I only got my model to put on one of the dresses for me. Here goes:

The first one I made is for a day at Epcot:
IMG_0122.jpg
They are all cute, but I love the Nemo one!!

Here is Jayden's latest outfit. She LOVES all things Pooh bear, especially Tigger. The Tigger on the shirt was an ebay iron-on embroidered patch. The kind you can hardly find anymore.

Thanks to Denise/mytwotinks for the design inspiration on the skirt!
Sorry if the photos don't resize. Photobucket is killing me tonight.

Jayden wanted to help out in photobucket:

DSCN3557-1.gif
Love this too!
I've got lots of pages to go back & catch up on, but was so excited that I finished this dress this evening that I had to share! This is my 2nd dress, so I'm still getting the hang of things, but am pretty happy with how it turned out - here is Maddie's Valentine's Day dress:

January030.jpg

I could have made it smaller, but this way it'll fit for a long time, I guess. ;) Since I'm new to all of this, all of the gathering took me longer than any other part of this dress. Does anyone have any tips for quick & easy gathering? Or will I just get better at it with time?

Off to catch up!
WoW! I think that you did an awesome job!! She it too cute!

We are now over the temp!!!! Attikus had a good night, we stayed home today. I like to wait 24hrs after no temp to make sure. He was smiling and laughing tonight. We even had family movie night and he thought he would join in. That made a crowded bed!:crowded: I think he ate half a bowl of cheerios. He won't eat baby food, but have discovered he will eat people food. Thank you all for the prayers, it's so nice to have my happy little boy back!
I am so glad he is feeling better!

Finally, I found the cord for my camera and could upload some pictures.

Here's Drizella in the park:
images-3.jpg

This is Drizella's dress for Becca - she's not a "princess kind of girl" but will be having lunch next week with the stepsisters on her MAW trip:
P1190148.jpg

Photos were taken before the dress was ironed. My husband says the bow makes the outfit. I covered a headband in acetate ribbon and hot glued the bow to the top of the headband.
This is fantastic! I think the bow totally makes it too!

I made my DD a T to wear for our arrival at the Polynesian:
DSC_0288.jpg

And these PJ's weren't even on my to do list but I couldn't resist the fabric at $2/yd at JoAnn's. And DD was feeling lousy so I hoped they would cheer her up.
DSC_0290.jpg

At first I was going to use different characters in the letters but there were only 3 characters. Then I decided to stick with just Pooh since it was the word Pooh and he is Lizzy's favorite. I'm happy I went with that.

And here's the Simply Sweet that I only cut one skirt piece for instead of 2. I hope I have time to make another one as the one wonky Mickey ear is bugging me too.
DSC_0294.jpg
You've been busy! They all look great!!

I know this wasn't for me, but I thought I could answer! Kadie wore saltwater sandals to Disneyland many times!! They are one of our favorites!!

Good to know! We are not planning our trip to Disneyworld until October. Our Stride Rite always has the saltwaters on sale in February though. My girls get a pair every year but have do not wear them at Disneyland. I thought they might not have enough support.

You're going in October too!! If we keep this up we will have us a big Disboutiquer Meetup in October.

So when you do regular serging, do you use all 4 threads???? which type of stitch is that called?

1st, I have to say I feel the need to scream!! I'm in the middle of working on my Big Give, and I think I broke my sewing machine! I just did some stippling, and now my feed dog won't go back up in position. :scared: That is the last thing I need right now.

I still have to make a t-shirt to match the skirt. Of course she wants a dress like the others with tinkerbell but I ran out of fabric and couldn't find any more of the purple. I have a couple more things to make for her and then a bunch of mickey head shirts and possibly some shorts for the boys.

Everything looks great! :goodvibes

I was going through some pictures of our October trip to Disneyland when my youngest saw this.....

DSC02268.jpg

This is what she wants to be for Halloween. Now I realize it is January. My girls have been trained to get their requests into Auntie early. She needs time to ponder the costume, google pictures, and find washable fabric.

Anyway this year Auntie has her oldest daughters wedding in July, of course she is sewing.

There is no way that I want to call her and tell her that this is the requested costume this year. I know she will be on here at some point.

I do not sew, but to me it looks like you have to basically make 2 dresses.

So now you all that do sew need to post how easy this would be to make. :lmao:

This is such a great idea! You could even do one color front and one color back. I hope Kirsta doesn't see this, she'll put it on my list of things to do. :crazy2:

Finally, I found the cord for my camera and could upload some pictures.

The bow is pretty awesome! Great outfit.

Well, what is it a year later and I finally made a crayon roll up! Here it is:

103_8972.jpg

hopefully they are turned right, photobucket is being odd this morning, as usual.

And our eiffel tower we made last night from the Ratatouille cookbook.

103_8960.jpg

I also did these pants the other day.

103_8949.jpg

That is probably all my pictures for now! LOL!

Everything is great. Love the Eiffel Tower. Can he do the Earfel towner? :scratchin I would love to make some crayon rollups, but I don't seem to find the time to work on them. The WallE fabric looks great with it.

Great shirt. I love resort themed outfits. Those pajamas are adorable. I love the American Girl Doll dress. Are you taking her to the park?

Love all the Valentines Day outfits... So sweet.
And the Drizella dress is wonderful, she will be a hit with the stepsisters!

Great Tigger iron-on on Jaydens t-shirt! I love to know where you found it....
the whole outfit is great.

Ok, everything is great and there is just too much to comment on :)
Your really inspiring me.

I finally bought the fabric for my folk's chef's hat and it should arrive next week.
I also found some great fabric for DS5, and I think I might turn it into a blanket.....
61134-G.JPG

and it might double as a play mat... We will see what I come up with when it arrives.

Ok, so DD2 needed new shoes... something for playing in, and this is what we came home with......
strid231078_131126_jb.jpg

Are they awful? or cute?
My husband was speechless when he saw them. We went to Famous Footwear, and they had nothing in her size. So we ran across the street to Nordstrom Rack and they had these Stride Rites on sale for a good price. She loves them, and once she tired them on wouldn't try any other shoes on.... but they are a bit bright. She was wearing a red polka dot shirt when we got them... I had to change her shirt when we got home . So really, how bad are they. I am typically a fan of fun and funky colors, but I am on still the fence about these shoes :).
Its better than her wearing her brothers old blue converse style shoes with the bright yellow flames..... those were my favorite when he was her age... so cute. If I could glam them up for her I would in a second.

Ok, back to what I should be doing today :)

They got a huge round of applause from Morgan when she saw them! She is VERY fond of BRIGHT shoes! (She just tried to talk me into orange and red sparkle clogs). If it helps at all- theses are tame compared to some of Morgan's shoes.

So when you do regular serging, do you use all 4 threads???? which type of stitch is that called?

Yes, I use all 4 threads. I think Teresa uses 3 on a normal basis. I sure am talking alot for her today! Can you tell I asked a zillion questions about my serger!

1st, I have to say I feel the need to scream!! I'm in the middle of working on my Big Give, and I think I broke my sewing machine! I just did some stippling, and now my feed dog won't go back up in position. :scared: That is the last thing I need right now.

I always thought the same thing about not having time to do the rollup. After this morning I can't believe I put it off for so long. I think it took about 30 minutes max.

Oh no! Keep us updated on your machine! Maybe if you walk away and come back in a while!

I use all four threads. According to my manual the stitch is called stretch mock or safety stitch.

LOL! I had no idea that there were names, although it makes sense!

I have ordered from ebay and got at my friends Hancock's in NC (I am in GA). I also got a different yard at Joann's one time but it was $8.99 a yard! :confused3

I forgot, I also got a yard of camo fabric from a Joann's in FL, my mom lives there. Can you tell I can't do any of my own fabric shopping because ours carries NOTHING!

hi! I am new at the whole sewing thing so please bear with me :thumbsup2
Where are some good places to find bigger pictures to make applique's with? Do people really use pics out of coloring books?
TIA :)

Yep some people use coloring books for applique templates. Search coloring pages. www.thedollpalace.com is a good place for Disney coloring pages for applique.

So, I am trying to decide which of the tops to make from the patterns I bought yesterday (CarlaC). I was reading through the peasant top pattern and starting to get worried. Someone assure me it is not all that complicated and that I should be fine please :)

Also, anyone seen any good size Tinks to applique? I bought a pillow case and the face is just WAY too big for a size 5 outfit. The material I have found have tiny little Tinks.

Thanks!!!

Carla's peasant top is easy to do, and if you get stuck, just post and someone here will have the answer for you, most of us have made that pattern (a few dozen times for some!) If you are really lucky Carla will answer the question on here herself. ;)

What Tink pillowcase do you have? I made this set for DD using a pillowcase. It's one of my favorites.

Thanks guys. They are quickly growing on me as I watch her run around in them.
Tame, Oh dear I think I need to see the orange and red sparkle clogs, where do you find those ;)

My daughter has picked out those shoes at least 3 times and they have never had them in her size, so she would definately give them a thumbs up. I have a hard time with pink shoes and red clothes. It kills me. So I have a pair of plain white tennis she can wear when her pink princess ones clash. Actually I bought the plain white ones (with her) first, (They have one butterfly on them) but as I was getting a pedicure before going to Disney, she and her daddy picked out a pair of pink princess shoes that light up. I hate those shoes because they clash with jsut about everything, but she loves them, so what can a mom do.

I think they are cute. We like loud and bright in our house. The louder it is the more it is worn. :lmao:

Lauren has a pair very similar - same style, different color. Hers are limes green, aqua and metallic silver. They were a bit much at first but now I like them.
