After following you on this thread during your CL stay, I have a very strong feeling that I am going to fall 100% head over heels in love with WL CL. I already love the WL - and we were completely spoiled by some amazing pixie dust last summer - but we have never stayed CL. I am sure I'll be booking my next stay while I'm there and trying to find ways to "sneak in" extra trips throughout the year.

Yes, there is a HUGE renovation beginning this month I believe. I think on the first page of this thread is specific info.

Kook - I hope you made it home safely. I gave my after Disney blues the name PDD - Post Disney Depression. Even though I know my next trip is right around the corner, leaving the magic and going back to everyday reality is no fun.

Have a safe trip home. So glad you enjoyed your stay.

I know what you mean by packing up the night before. We do that also. Try to get as much done as possible.

As many times as we stay there, it's still so hard to leave. I'm usually the last one out of the room. One last look off the balcony and then blow a kiss to the room.

Well, once you get home, you can start planning for August!

I don't know how you manage not to "stop by" on a regular basis seeing that you live so close. When we were in the car last night, I looked at the clock and it was 9:30 and I said to DH that there was 30 minutes left of "cobbler time." Time is measured differently at WDW

No, the rehab will not impact VWL at all.

Thank you - we're back home. No fresh pineapple was on my kitchen counter this morning - very sad. You're right about the PDD, the only treatment is to plan another trip

The WL room renovations will not affect the Villas at Wilderness Lodge.

Kook-thanks for asking about the Villas while you were there.
As far as PDD- I have reacted to it in several ways. I remember the first time we stayed at the WL. When we got home I immediately ordered CDs of Copland's Rodeo, Appalachian Spring and Billy the Kid Suites so I could hear some of the music that would make me feel like I was there. My daughter and I have been known to get excited by certain smells that remind us of Disney-even bus exhaust! The smokehouse smell is one of my favorites. When the Polynesian was our "home" resort, the smell of chlorine, with a touch of mildew, and the sound of running water would always remind us of the GCH. I listen to park music all the time. *sigh*
And even if I don't know when my next trip will be, I am always reading and researching and planning for it. On our last night, I always say good-bye to Main St. and the castle and to my WDW home-saying " I don't know exactly when I'll see you again, but bye for now. And thanks Walt. "

When does WL get thrown back into the mix?. I know you have a lot of work coming up now so I just want you to know that we'll miss you and your changes. But, next week holds promise for many changes for Jeanette!

Last summer, we stayed here 12 nights because we canceled our Poly/CL split one day into our stay we loved it so much (sorry, I know you love the Poly - no hard feelings I hope). Thank you for sharing my enthusiasm, I know you love the Lodge, too. Have you made a decision yet on whether you're keeping CR or changing to WL for New Years? I know there are so many great choices and there is a resort for every taste and budget.

No hard feelings at all . We do love the Poly, but have many reservations (as you know) about their CL . We love both the WL and Poly, but the Poly has an edge for us in that the rooms are quite a big larger and all rooms have a daybed (which comes in very handy with having 2 teens ). I know the WL has the deluxe rooms, but any time I have tried booking one of those, they've never been available with a discount. I still have the CR booked for New Years. Thoughts of changing to WL CL keep creeping into my mind as I do love the lodge and CL, but the CR would be something different for us as we've never stayed there.....so only time will tell, although I have been known to make alot of changes within a short period of time.....so anything can happen . I love that Disney has many choices to choose from, but it also makes it hard to pick .

You will love WL CL . Our first time trying CL was at the WL (it was also our first WL stay), and we've been in love with the lodge ever since . We like trying new resorts so have only stayed at the WL twice in all of our trips, but it's always on the radar when planning a future trip .

Even though I know my next trip is right around the corner, leaving the magic and going back to everyday reality is no fun.

I agree. I always try to lessen the blow of leaving by starting to plan our next trip before we even leave the one we're on by deciding which resort we want to stay at next.......and booking a bounceback helps to already have another trip planned before getting home .

A wonderful gift basket awaited us in our room yesterday, courtesy of the OFC. DD has already eaten the totem pole and we loved the sausage - a little pre-appetizer appetizer. BTW, Randy, the manager said that they have a new vendor for their chocolate welcome gifts and they are a finer quality chocolate with a shorter shelf life. So, you guys have 3 months to eat your new welcome gifts - no saving them - enjoy them now

This is the new welcome gift, front and back. The paper that says 'OFC' comes out of the package and can be used as a bookmark and has a sketch of WL on it. The chocolate is wonderful and some packages have two turtle-shaped chocolates

I've got to ask, as I've never been to WL, let alone CL, if that is a typical welcome basket? It seems like in the pictures of previous welcome gifts that it wasn't nearly as extravagant as what you received. Are they treating you to some thing special because you've been so loyal and complementary of them or is this the new normal? If it is, awesome!

This time next week we'll be there! I haven't been to WDW in almost 20 years and I'm so excited!

Did you request it before your trip? I am taking 2 friends who are in their 40's and have NEVER been to Disney before. I have never been flag family so it would be something new for all of us.

Sorry, just catching up. Request at check in! It's a great experience. This was our 3rd stay at WL, and the first time we actually got to be Flag Family.

Congrats on booking 12 nights at WL CL! We booked 12 nights at AKL for this Aug, with BB in our WL room in Jan. Sadly only bunk bed rooms were avail at WL. Maybe something will turn up for the Late Summer discounts, and I can book a split with AKL. But then again, we're thinking of a split with BC too Maybe I should be on the resort changer thread!

I heard they are putting different flooring in the entry area of the rooms? Like Wood flooring? Have you heard anything along these lines?

I know what you mean about the last day blues! The walk of shame to the DME is horrible but having another trip booked takes some of the sting out of it!

Good morning everyone! In about 43 days from today we will be checking into WL! This will be my first time staying there! I'm FINALLY getting around to being excited about this trip. It's been a crazy busy year. My daughter is a senior and you can imagine all the stress and stuff us as moms have to do during their year! LOL So looking forward to going back through this tread and getting some advice from the "pros".
