Sue, I will be there in 18 days. Did you have a bounce back offer in your room?

Yes, it's for selected dates thru Dec 2012 up to 35% for deluxe resorts.
1/1-1/5, 1/8-1/12, 1/16-2/8, 2/12-2/18, 3/4-3/10, 3/18-3/31, 4/29-5/26, 6/3-6/9, 8/5-10/6, 10/21-11/3, 11/11-11/17, 11/25-12/1, 12/9-12/15.

Thanks for the info. We will be arriving Friday around 11am. We are planning on sticking around the WL. Hopefully the pool will be open Friday & Saturday. Maybe we will run into you. If you see us, say hi.

We were at pool around 4ish. I spent most of my time in hot tub :goodvibes If you see a blond 50ish woman with 26 yr old brunette daughter, thats us :thumbsup2

Last year I got a fantastic WL zip-up hoodie. Does anyone know if they still have resort specific merchandise???

Thanks,
Tracy

Yes they have resort specific stuff. WL, Poly, GF, & AKL have always had it. Don't know why they took the other resort specific stuff away. I did see some hoodies.

They had a really great womans shirt too, burgandy with black owl & lantern. but sizing seemed to run really small. L looked like it would fit a large gerbil maybe :rotfl:

Gee, it has been far too long since I've stopped by - miss the WL thread!:goodvibes

Nice to see so many RCer's over here too - the question of the day? Is pas still at WL CL? ;) Hope so...and so far, we are still holding a Deluxe Room for the RC birthday trip.:yay:

Love the photos you posted a couple of pages back, KOOK. Thank you!:flower3:

Going back to the first page to check out the Lounge photos again. ::yes::

Happy Weekend!:goodvibes

Hi all!

Haven't visited the WL thread since 2010. Now I am planning a trip for sis and her family. I can't find a WL FAQ on this new thread. Any reason to think that the boat and bus transportation operates any differently than it did in Dec. 2010? At that point the beginning info about transportation in the old thread described our experience exactly, especially the boat routes and operating schedule.

Thanks!

Found my answer from replies back in August 2011. For anyone who is reading along, sounds like they haven't changed.

The Red Flag boat to the MK does not start operating until 0830 or 30 minutes prior to park opening.

If you're trying to get over to the MK earlier, I have two suggestions:

1. You can take the bus to the MK beginning one hour prior to park opening.

OR

2. You could take the Blue Flag to the CR and then walk to the MK. The Blue Flag operates at 0645.

It's an easy 10 minute walk from the CR walkway to the entrance to the MK and it's never crowded. It starts next to the bus stop at the front/left of the resort. There is a blue sign that reads: WALKWAY TO MAGIC KINGDOM.

Brian, we asked the captain about this in June when we went and he said the boats operate in a clockwise motion in the morning and then counterclockwise in the afternoon. I believe they switch around 1 or 2. I'm not sure though. The red flag boats do the same thing.

As long as tge weather holds up, and no more snow or ice falls, we will be checking into WL tonight.

Of course my DD. woke this morning saying she didn't feel well. Ugh!! Here is hoping for the best.

It sure has been too long - so nice having you back! I have no idea where Jeanette "is." You know how fluid her resort changing movements are:rotfl:

Great detective work, BlueFairy:thumbsup2. Let us know if you have more questions.

Oh, no, I'm sorry she'e not feeling well. Maybe she's just a little nervous or excited? I hope your trip goes smoothly - you have gorgeous weather awaiting you - highs in the 80s all week:goodvibes

Thank you Sue, I'm now looking at the week of 10/22/12.

Just stopping by to say I am super, super psyched that we just booked WLV with my ILs RCI points. I had been searching for 4 months and it paid off. Woot!! Going in May and super excited.

Oh I know this is a bit late and better posted elsewhere, but I have to hear how you pulled this off. My parents are RCI Weeks members and have never had good luck trying this. I have checked off and on through the years and not been able to find any RCI availability for trade at a WDW resort.

We've 'officially' picked Wilderness Lodge as our hotel for our Dec. 2012 trip! :yay: I'm so excited, I've never stayed at a Disney deluxe.

Yippee! WL was our first Deluxe, too back in 1997 - you're going to be WOWED!

What room type did you book?

I am here :yay: We are BWI/Poly for August......for now....but definitely still holding strong to our WL Deluxe Room for Nov....right????

We haven't booked the room yet, just our plane tickets. We are going to book a woods view because we want a king bed, and the cheapest room category doesn't offer king beds apparently. Hopefully they will give us a room on a high level!

The WL was so wonderful. The staff was incredible and it really did feel like home. I didn't want to leave. We decided that 2 nights at WL would have been worth it, if we had to eat pb&j's and potato chips all weekend. Oh well lesson learned.

This may just be rumour, but I was speaking to a CM in the gift shop today about upcoming WL refirb, and he said that he heard they were going to turn it into a 5 star resort :sad2: I hope it isn't true because that would mean pricing would go sky high too. Bleck. One of the things I love about WL is that the pricing isn't ridiculous like GF or CR tower. I just won't pay upwards of $300 a night for a room.

Oh,my...I've very mixed feelings about WL becoming a 5 star resort (GF is not even a 5 star resort anymore, except in Disney stars.;)). While it would be great to have larger rooms, not if it hikes the price to equal the other MK Resorts. And, heck, why fix a good thing anyway? WL has a warm homeyness to it, that is not found at any other Disney Resort - it's what makes it special. As well as the water launch to MK and Ft. Wilderness...it is slightly isolated in a good way.

Well, general saying when it comes to Disney Resorts is that the CM's are the last to know, so let's hope this is no more than rumor....although KOOK did say the manager she spoke with said big plans were in the works.

Guess we just have to wait and see. Thanks..and enjoy the rest of your stay! :goodvibes
