Well, after months of waiting, its finally almost time!!! our flight leaves wednesday night for 2 nights at universal and 7 nights at wl!!! I have some major packing to do today since i will be working almost continuously right up until we leave! my dh and i will be celebrating the 15th aniv of our fairytale wedding at the pavillion and wl honeymoon and our dds are so excited to get there! really in need of some disney magic and I can't think of a better place to get it than the wl!!:yay::yay::yay:

I am sitting at home listening to the rain fall against the window. I wish I was at WL sitting on a balcony overlooking the courtyard instead.

Its one of my favorite memories of WL. Now I just the next couple weeks to fly by. What awesome memories of the lodge do you have?

Brian

That's an easy one: Being upgraded to the Presidential Suite for 11 nights - it's going to be hard to beat that memory!
super excited!!! Just booked WL for March 25th-29th with free dining!!!! :woohoo:
Yippee! Is this your first stay at WL?

Super excited too! We just booked WL for Feb 7-10. Can't wait to get there!
Congratulations! I hope you have a great vacation!

It won't be long now. I hope you have a magical 15th anniversary trip:goodvibes

Just wanted to join in- 1st trip without kids!!! Feb 4-9, 2011
20th anniversary, we have woods view and I just called and requested King bed north side. I don't know how much luck we will have with requests since plane arrival is 8:05pm. Oh well, really hoping for quiet with no delivery trucks!:wizard::yay:

Just back from 2 weeks at WL.

It was absolutely wonderful - so calm and friendly.

We visited a few other resorts but were still really pleased with our choice.

Roaring Forks and Whispering Canyon weren't spectacular food-wise but neither were they bad. Actually WC wasn't bad it just seemed expensive compared to other restaurants we ate at (we were on DDP so "expensive" was theoretical anyway).

I would definitely stay there again - it was great and the staff were just lovely.

Checked in to VWL on Sunday after spending time at AKV. Love both resorts. Today is going to be a quiet lodge day .... pool time and of course time in a rocker. Maybe end the day with a movie on the beach??? :confused3

:cool1: 27 more days!!!!! We're staying in a Honeymoon suite to celebrate our 38th anniversary!!! :rolleyes1 DW doesn't know!!!!!!!! Ain't I a stinker :rotfl:?

Two weeks must have been heavenly! We were there last November and even with the excitement of holiday decorations the Lodge & Villas had a happy calmness about it - and we found everyone to be so warm and friendly.

For 30 years I've been a Poly lover - runners up the GF, CR. Also enjoyed BC, BWV, AKL stays...as well as many other Disney resorts. NEVER wanted to stay at WL, but decided to give it a try - wow - LOVED it! Like you, would definitely stay again - especially after a nice refurb. I miss the former color design - Villas still has it - reds/blues rather than brown. We just found the deep red/blue more Northwest and prettier. :thumbsup2

I am just GREEN! Are you in a studio or one bedroom? Both the Lodge and Villas are wonderful - the Lodge for better views, but the Villas for larger rooms. We had a fabulous studio, location could not be beat!

Enjoy!!! :goodvibes

Enjoy your "surprise" Homeymoom suite!!!! DH and I stayed at WL for our 10th last year. Loved it!!! :lovestruc This year's anniversary trip so far finds BWI is leading the pack over GF and CR, but WL keeps tugging me back. ;) That's why I'm here on the WL thread again.

I'm in a studio .... probably one of the worst views but at least I'm not spending all my time on my balcony! I'm out and about enjoying the resort. Just stopped back in the room for a little something to eat and then off for more fun!!! :thumbsup2

..

 Hey, Magic!! WL does hold that lure! Honestly, BWI is a fabulous location if spending a lot of time in EPCOT - and you could cross it off the list of first time resort stays!:thumbsup2

I am not yet sure if we'd enjoy WL/VWL if not decorated for the holidays ...hmm...well, maybe a for a Jan/Feb visit it would be nice too! Spring and Summer I need those palm trees! ;)

Well...our July 2012 trip planning has taken some crazy turns, but I am happy that we have landed back at the WL for what will be 10 awesome nights!!!! I am very excited as we will be able to spend alot of time at the resort with that long of a stay. I remember that there was some talk of a reno beginning in Feb 2012, is that still on? And, please...remind me of the resort activities they have. Thanks!!!

That sounds like it will be a great anniversary trip. You shouldn't hear any delivery truck noises if you're booked in a Woods View.

Thanks for reporting back to us. You're spot on that it's a calm and friendly atmosphere at the WL/VWL. Well, WCC might be the exception:rolleyes1

Oooo, don't forget about the free marshmallow roast before the movie. Has the free WiFi been working reliably?

You sneaky devil - she sure will be surprised! I hope you both have a fantastic 38th anniversary:goodvibes

HAHA!! Did you get a label maker? (Isn't Tim the one who converted just for the jokes?)

Christmas presents? Aren't you celebrating Festivus? We just love competing in those feats of strength...

I assume the 2-12 rehab. is still scheduled - at least it was as of August. Perhaps someone who is there now or going soon could confirm this:confused3

The resort activities are listed on the first page. There are daily poolside games and contests, nightly movies on the beach, nightly marshmallow roast on the beach, arts and crafts at the kid's club in the afternoon, Hidden Mickey hunt, the morning lodge tour...

very excited to check in for our 1st stay at VWL on 11/12!! Debating about online check in or not. We just cannot wait!! Thanks for such a great thread, DH and I have been reading it and just getting more and more excited! :yay:

Just got back from my walk to Fort Wilderness. I saw 4 does and 3 fawns along the way. One of the does just stood right on the edge of the path as I walked by. Poor little fawns fan off.

I have lived in lots of neighborhoods that decorate for the holidays but those folks at the camp grounds really do it up right. I couldn't believe how much stuff they brought with them and put up. Hope that someday I'm here at Christmas time to see what they do for that.

The wireless internet is working fine .... standard slow as most hotels are but I'm able to get on everytime I try.

Tonight is the last night of the Halloween fireworks so I'm going to try and catch that tonight. One of the cast members shared a good spot with me ... all of you experts probably already know about it but I'll let you know if it is any good.

I've decided I really don't need to checkout on Saturday .... I'll just stay! :cool1:

All this is making me more excited for our 3rd stay at WL. 76 more days!

Wow, WL is getting refirbed again in 2012? Just seems like they just did it not long ago! Time flies, I'll be excited to see what they do with the rooms next. I love the headboards they have now with the switches built in to the headboard.
