I'm a little confused. Is the little bridge inside the resort still closed or has it reopened now that silver creek is flowing again? Not sure if they are all connected or what.

Silver Creek is flowing!!!

IS THE WATERFALL WORKING NOW ? Heres a thought what do you think about them starting the side walks and fencing earlier then September / late August. If any one is there now an update from a manager cast member will be appreciated. Thanks:)

So I've been playing around trying to make the Fall discount fit my stay.

Briefly jumped over to the Poly since they had standards on discount but really wasn't doing it for me so started playing with dates.

So there were CV Bunk bed rooms available early but not Tuesday. Then there were WV Bunkbed rooms Tuesday and Wednesday.

Neither had rooms all 4 nights.

So we decided to split. Briefly thought WL/POLY, but we went with CVBB two nights and WVBB the other two nights.

Didn't have to change my flights and saved a little over $400.

Now to wait for AP discounts to see if it all changes again.

On a high note F&W Marketplace menus are out. Yum!

Waterfall was working when we returned late last night. So glad we got to see it. We are sad to check out today!

This week it became official we are staying at WL 28 Nov-6 Dec. This will be our first stay at a deluxe. I am so excited!!!

Now to educate myself on the resort. Our TA asked us if we wanted to make any room requests, any BTDT suggestions?

My folks will be glamping at Fort Wilderness. I've heard ther is a trail btw the campground and WL.
How long is the walk from WL to the campground? Is it Stroller friendly? Thanks

The walkway is paved, and it takes about 20 minutes at a steady, but leisurely, pace. It is not lit, however, so if you don't think you can make it from one end to the other before the sun goes down, don't start. We started back to WL one evening right at sunset, and it was DARK! There are buses and boats that go between the two resorts as well. All three methods will bring you to the Settlement area of the campground where Trail's End and Pioneer Hall are located. To get to the RV and Cabin loops, you will need to take an internal bus from the Settlement Depot. There are a few RV loops that are within walking distance of the Settlement area.

Does anyone know what floor that the standard view rooms facing the Contemporary have the enclosed balconies? Is it the 5th floor? And what floor facing the Contemporary would be the best to request for a standard view?

TIA!!!
I don't think that any of the standard view rooms facing the Contemporary have enclosed balconies. The sv 6th floor rooms have open balconies in that section of the resort. The 7th floor has the enclosed balconies and it is club level.

The best floor to request would be the 6th floor because you would have the best chance of seeing the fireworks from the higher floors. :}

Im curious when they begin the pool rehab (sorry for bringing up a sore subject :guilty:) will the creek still flow..........................

Doug :goofy:

The waterfall is not connected to the pool. The water system is separate and actually recirculates through the lobby. It isn't on the same level as the pool, so I'm hoping it remains open. :)

Thanks everyone for your reply about the falls running... Be there next week and I hope this is it for rehab work till the projected date of early Sept for the pool redo... I really want to see the full beauty of this resort. It's one of our favorite and we love the Courtyard walks the best in the morning and evening.. It's the details of the landscape that really set this resort apart along with the water features... If again anyone staying there now chit chats with a manager or informative cast member, could you be kind enough to ask if this is it for work till Sept... Many thanks in advance

OK friends, I have a couple of questions for all of you who are there now or who have been there recently. I have suspicions about my DD's BF proposing to her on our upcoming trip. I thought near Cinderella's castle might be a nice area- maybe near the Wishing Well. I think my DD would not want it to happen with a crowd, so that's why I am thinking it might be better there. Then I thought about the hub construction and was wondering if that would ruin any photos. Is the Rose Garden area affected? Are there any Memory Maker photographers near the Wishing Well? If not, could we ask one of them to go to that spot for a "family photo" ? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Well, it's official. DH will be coming home December 14, so I will be waiting for the 2015 dates to come out and changing our reservation to January.

Kind of sad that we will be missing Food and Wine, but January will be less busy, less expensive, and we are hoping to use our DVC points for SWW in May/June.

C'est la vie!

We just returned from WDW and actually witnessed a proposal on Friday morning about 8am. We had reservations at the Crystal Palace before park opening and had walked up to the Photopass photographer in front of the castle for a family photo. There was a lovely couple in front of us (we were the only ones waiting) and they posed for the typical photo. Suddenly, the guy grabbed his girl's hand and leaned in closely to say something to her and then dropped to his knee. The girl was wonderfully surprised! Our mouths fell open as he pulled a black box from his pocket and proposed right there! The Photopass guy never missed a beat! He kept clicking away and even had them pose afterwards with the ring. I asked afterwards and he said he took 21 photos of the moment. He was rather elated himself after the experience. It was a very exciting moment. :) I saw the couple a little later in the Crystal Palace and both were just beaming.

Just an idea. :)

On a Wilderness Lodge note, we had a wonderful stay this past week at the lodge. Club level was awesome; DH is completely sold. He made the comment last night that the Lodge is "our resort" and we should definitely do club level if possible in the future. The staff was wonderful and spoiled us immensely. We missed visiting the lounge on our first night as our flight delays put us into the Lodge at 10:05. :( The next night, we were literally running back and arrived at 9:50 to try the cobbler. We turned the corner to find only a handful of lemon bars and some sad-looking magic bars. Within two minutes, however, a new cobbler had been brought out with two trays heaping with brownies and magic bars. :) The staff was also very helpful in securing an impossible Toy Story Mania fastpass one evening. And, to top it all off, I got the recipe for the Buffalo Chili! Now, I just gotta find some buffalo!

Thanks for all the recommendations for staying club level at the Lodge. Your advice was spot on! We'll definitely be back! :)

THIS!!!

If we didn't have ankle biters still in school, we'd be ALL OVER those "off-season" rates & crowds...but, it's Christmas madness again on this next trip!!!

I was thinking of doing Christmas, but prices are just too high, even thought I would LOVE to be there at Christmastime even to just see the resorts all decked out :)

We stayed at the WL last January. It was a great time to cozy up to the fires. There are a lot of fireplaces in the main lodge and at the villas and they were all lit. They also have some amazing firescreens on them, too. The WL is well suited to January. And one chilly morning we ended up taking the lodge tour instead of heading out in the cold and were really happy we did. The tour is really interesting and totally worth the time. :)

Hey Kook! Just wondering if when you were at WL if you happened to check out the CL menus to see if anything has changed on them. Also, did you get any new CL pics to share? Thanks so much!!
