KOOK, not a big deal at all, but I was looking over the list on page 1, and I guess I neglected to mention that this is our 12th anniversary trip!

After much discussion over the long weekend and a few talks with our TA, I think we're going to stick with WL. Having the Woods Bunk room was just too much for us to give up, and with our trip being primarily MK over the last week (when we will be the most tired), we decided to just roll with the punches for our 1st WL stay. Besides - trying out Blizzard Beach for a few hours on our down day will be an experience that we never would have tried without all of this happening.

Now, to get the whole FP+ plans ready over the next 3 weeks...

well i hope everyone who sticks with there ressie has a magical time, ourselves...we jumped ship over the weekend. We wondered to ourselves if disney were to put up the infamous big green wall, what it would be like walking up from the dock and that wall blocking that awesome view of the resort. with the frequency of our trips we will get there at a diff. time......maybe next Christmas!

A Christmas trip to the WL is a great idea as the lodge is just amazing during the holidays .

Kook - we haven't made up our minds yet where we are staying. I was hoping to get more information before I make a decision but I'm not sure how long I can wait (PIF deadlines are at the end of Sept). I was hoping to see pictures when it starts in Sept.

We need an RO before we proceed with GF anyway.

Still sticking with WL. We love the lodge and are looking forward to all of the things we have planned. Even maybe checking out the CR pool (since we'll probably never stay there) and if we do get BB passes, trying it out!
We are definitely looking at the positives rather the negatives, considering we are staying CL and will have a grand view of the 'enhancement'

And if I say something about that, and get a discount .... great, if I don't, oh well (still waiting to see if any AP Discounts come out too) I'm there with my DH spending the small time I have with him before he goes back to AFG

I'm sure you will have a great time. As far as BB, it's our favorite between that an TL, have fun checking it out . LOL on the "enhancement" view.....you have a great attitude about it and I'm sure you'll have a fabulous trip . Enjoy the time with your DH and a big THANK YOU to him for his services .

I have a quick question about the military salute room discounts(that will hopefully be renewed very soon!!) and I was wondering if anyone knows if it is all the rooms that will be included in the deal or only certain views? Last year we stayed at CR and had to choose the views they told us we could pick from (which I'm not complaining...I loved CR and the discount is MUCH appreciated!!) We did book that trip about 120 days out so maybe the other rooms were already taken that offered the discount? We currently have a woods view room booked from November 15-22 and I was just curious if anyone knows if those rooms are even an option with the discount? Either way we will be at WL for my sons 5th birthday with a few days of Christmas decorations added in as icing on the cake! Can you add is to the Log Kook? Thank you!

We always use the Military 40% off Deluxe/RO since it started being offered. There is a finite number of rooms in this inventory. If you book immediately after the discount is released, your odds are very good that you'll be able to book anywhere/anytime that isn't blacked-out. The only room type I've never been able to book at the Military rate is the Deluxe room at WL or a suite as they've never been included.

I have made reservations with the Military rate at practically all the Deluxes and for most room categories. I didn't end up keeping most of the reservations, but I was able to book them. Even hard to get rooms like Tower Club Queen at CR and Deluxe rooms at resorts other than WL and even RPC. Keep in mind though that the harder to get rooms, like Tower Club, must be booked well in advance. I booked (but ended up canceling) about 6 months out - the sooner the better.

Disney will also place canceled reservations back into the Military rate inventory, so just because the room isn't available now, doesn't mean it will never be available. While you can't check inventory online, what I do is check first online to see if the particular room I want is available with the AP rate. If you can't check AP, then check a discounted RO rate. If it's available there, then most of the time, it will also be available with the Military rate and then you can call to check. If it isn't available online with some discount, then it most likely won't be available when you call.

I still have a Log backlog so I will add everyone's dates soon

Thanks wdwkook for posting this!! I have been wondering this for months now as I was wanting to book a deluxe room. We have 5 people in our party, do you think we would have trouble getting 2 rooms with the discount'?
