Question for those of you who bring an over the door shoe organizer for your tioletries & little stuff...where do you hang yours? We have had problems with the bathroom door being too tight at the top. Any suggestions? I bought those Command sticky hooks that are not soupose to damage the surface it sticks to, I was planning on sticking them to the mirror on the bathroom door. Any other ideas?

Could you hang it in the closet right behind the bathroom?

We have hung it on one of the sliding closet doors but then they don't slide very smoothly. Sounds like we're breaking something.

Kook, what is this lodger's log you speak of? Our first time at WL will be this October, 15-20 (we start at Art of Animation on the 12th.

Can't wait to see more of your pics and hear about your trip! I am hoping at October won't be too busy. EasyWDW had it as one of the top five times to go!

So booked Yellowstone Suite for next X-Christmas...what should I expect till then and what should I expect when I get to the resort's front doors..:cool1:

I've updated the Lodgers' Log. If your dates are missing or incorrect, just post and let me know.

Howdy Kook,

We'll be there OCT 3 thru OCT 9.
First stay at WL. Courtyard View.
T and D's 15th Anniversary. Princess E's 3rd birthday.
:yay:

Lodger's Log entry......

May 4-11, 2013...WL courtyard view.. 30anniv and DD college grad trip.

Just booked my trip for October 26-28! So excited my first time staying at the WL !

Make sure that you request an INNER or WL courtyard View room. If you don't, you could be given a courtyard view of VWL.

Howdy Kook,
:wave2:
Thanks for the suggestion!
I'll be calling them tomorrow with the request.

I need opinions. I have been wanting to stay at wl forever but something always comes up. This trip My parents have offered to take the girls for a night or 2 so my DH and I can have a 10 year anniversary mini trip. It will be in the middle of a 4 night AKL stay and a 5 night OKW stay. I booked us a standard view room at WL. However I am really second guessing this. Should I spend the extra $40 for a woods view? Or the $70 for a courtyard view. I don't know that it matters much to me unless we end up looking at the garbage. I REALLY dont want to look at garbage! LOL
We thought about doing CL but after a not so great experience with CL at BWI last year I am not sure we want to be disappointed again.
Any help would be great. I really want this to be a special retreat for us!
Thanks in advance.
Heidi

Just my thoughts.... WL is fantastic... As for view.. How much time are you going to spend on your balcony, especially on a short stay? We stay at WL 9-12 nights and rarely spend 30 minutes out there the whole stay, but I got to admit, I do like courtyard view....

I mean, if we're up we're at the pool or park and anytime we're not at a park, we're at the pool with a cooler....so paying for a view is a moot point....

Now for CL.... Use to enjoy Club back in the day, especially at WL over the other deluxes but in recent years offerings have gone down and prices up and it just isn't worth it for us...we take the savings, do a grocery/alcohol stop in route and set up our own CL along with sandwich fixings an snack plus we'll take the extra savings and stay longer, which we prefer.... Longer the better!

Your choice but for us, a couple of days isn't worth the extra expense...

We booked standard rooms because we couldn't justify the extra expense. On our first trip we were upgraded to courtyard view, which was beautiful, but for us it was not worth the extra cost to guarantee it. If sitting on the balcony watching the sights is going to be a big part of your trip, it might be worth the extra for you. Even if you get a standard view room overlooking the service area, I doubt you will see any garbage. The view pics on the first post of the thread show the service area that most of the standard rooms overlook. For us, we think it is worth the savings. I'll let you know how that works out for us on Saturday! Enjoy your trip!

My little summer WL TR is almost done and I hope to have it posted later today. I'll post the link here when it's official.

I have always found plenty of room for all our toiletries, etc.. on top of the sinks, counter and underneath the sinks (I remove the towels, hair dryer and tissues and I put the coffee maker above the fridge):

If you don't think that will be enough room, in the entry, near the bathroom, there are two drawers above the fridge that you could also put small items into:

:welcome:! The Lodgers' Log is just our list of DISers who will be visiting WDW and their dates. As someone already mentioned, it's on the first page of the thread. You can use it to see if other DISers will be there at the same time as you and if you like, you can PM them and try to meet. Unfortunately, this didn't work very well during my visit. I did have the pleasure of meeting mommadjones and TheLodgeLady, but I missed meeting several others:(. Sometimes schedules just don't mesh right.

So booked Yellowstone Suite for next X-Christmas...what should I expect till then and what should I expect when I get to the resort's front doors..:cool1:
Congratulations and :welcome:, Eric! We were very lucky to stay in the Yellowstone Suite last August - you will LOVE IT!!!! There are photos on the first page. Since it is a club level booking, the IPO should email you soon. If they don't email you, just email them with your confirmation number and any reservations, requests, etc... you might need or just introduce yourself. They can make all your ADRs for you at the 180 day mark or you can make your own.

When you get to the port cochere of WL, a club level runner/greeter should be waiting for you. He or she will escort you to the 7th floor. You will then check-in at the Old Faithful Club desk. If your room is ready, you will then be escorted to room 7123! Enjoy your four balconies!

Check out post #11 on the first page of this thread.
Thanks for providing directions:thumbsup2

I had to respond to your bolded comment. We stayed at BWI CL in March and my review is hyperlinked in my signature. We were disappointed, too. Though many love the Innkeeper's Club, we didn't, but we did really like the resort itself and its location.

Not all WDW club levels are the same, in fact, they are all quite different. What appeals to one might not appeal to another, so having choices is a good thing. Please don't let one negative club level experience keep you from trying another, such as the Old Faithful Club. I don't know what you weren't thrilled with at BWI, but I can highly recommend WL/CL and I'm quite picky:snooty:. But even without CL, WL is wonderful and I would book the lowest category of room that you can live with.

First Stay at VWL coming up October 21-26!!! Can't wait!!!
Yippee!!! I'll put your dates in the Lodgers' Log. :welcome: to the thread.

We are looking at staying here December 2013. I know it looks beautiful and I've seen parts of the resort when we've eaten there. We have 2 young boys (9 and 6 when we go). Will this be a good resort for them? I know my youngest thinks AoA looks like the coolest place ever but I'm leery of staying there. Especially it being a value at pretty much the same price as WL

eacosper arrives at WL today - we hope you have fun in the wilderness!

I think WL is the perfect resort for your boys - so much to see and do!

Besides two pools, one with a slide and one that's jetted over at VWL, there is a playground right on the beach. They can rent bikes, watch free movies on the beach, do free activities in the afternoon at the Cub's Den, play at the arcade, go on a Hidden Mickey hunt...

Have you eaten at WCC? I think your boys would love the "pony races" and Lincoln Logs. Every afternoon there's a pool party, too.

The marina has boat rentals and Sea Raycers that are so much fun to rent. And, over at Fort Wilderness, there are pony rides, canoeing, archery (lots of fun) horse stables. You can walk, boat or bus right over there and Hoop-Dee-Doo and Trail's End are right next door to each other. Have they done Mickey's Backyard BBQ or the campfire marshmallow roast? Oh, and tell them about all the wildlife in the woods near the villas and FW and about the Electric Water Pageant.

At WL you'll have more transportation options, more recreation, you'll be closer to the MK, have two restaurants and you'll be next door to FW. Let us know what you and the boys decide.

Ohhhh thank you!!! Didn't know they had all this!!! You just sealed the deal for me! They have eaten at WCC and LOVE it!! :) I didn't know I could go to the camp ground and do all that if I wasn't staying there!! We may do 2 resort days! So this sounds perfect!!!! :) I'm booking it! :)

I decided to book woods view. I requested a high floor in the north wing. We actually spend most evenings having wine on our balcony. It is important to me to be happy with the location.
I was just not happy at the bwi cl. It was fine the first night then it seemed just ok. The food was basically the same and after the second night we were bored with it.
