A big hello back.
 Our trip will not be as relaxed this time with the kiddos, but I know they are going to love the lodge as much as I do!!!

I'm looking over at DH looking at our WL thread so...
:worship: Thank you, thank you, thank you!

The final itinerary was revealed tonight around the dinner table ;) Only 5 pages long :rolleyes1 but not bad for a 12 day trip. This will be our 3rd WL stay but 1st time at the OFC. My parents have never been to the Lodge...so it's a first for them.

Hi there Pas  and ::yes::

No parks, though, while at FW...basically doing NOTHING but relaxing (I think...I don't relax well :upsidedow)

How in the world did ya know???!!! :confused3 Did you take a sneak peek at my itinerary??

Why yes I do :teeth: I might even post while I'm there :scratchin The TR is still up in the air...we'll see how motivated I am when we return from this adventure. As Scarlett says..."I'll think about that tomorrow." ;)
You MUST do a TR!! If not just post every one of your beautiful pics!!! YOU do nothing, hmmmmm I don't buy it my friend ;) So thrilled your trip is almost here!! And I can't wait to hear how you all like OFC:love:

Hi all,

Loving this thread, checking in in 11 days and Im out of my mind excited! I was browsing WL videos on youtube and came across one I wanted to share...its the lodge from the air at sunrise...pretty cool!

 Thanks for the link, I'm going to check it out!

I am sure many of you have already seen this, but for those of you who haven't.....

The Travel Channel's Samantha Brown filmed an episode of Great Hotels at Wilderness Lodge. Loved it! Check it out....

Even if I have already seen it, I am watching it now!!! Thank you! DH is working late, so I can use a distraction from my homework:rotfl2:

Thanks for the pictures, we're so excited that our trip is in just a couple of days!!!
You'll be living it up super soon, safe travels!!:)

Well, the tickets are purchased and the research is done. Just waiting on 60 days. On 5/24 we watched the web cam for Rock Your Disney Side 24 hours at MK and even put the fireworks on the living room TV. Littlest DD was ecstatic! I am trying to hold off on the surprise, but DD9 is on to me. This morning she started quizzing me, and she's been reading over my shoulder. Hoping to hold off until we settle into summer.

I would LOVE to see this itinerary, if it is available for viewing! LOL, I am currently working on (driving my DH crazy with) our trip itinerary. So much fun! :)

:scratchin While I'm an ol' pro at posting pics, I have no idea how to upload a word document. :confused3 Can that even be done?? You might appreciate my obsessive over planning...most will roll their eyes and laugh ;) My DH has learned to live with it...and secretly would be disappointed if an itinerary didn't exist ::yes:: Love planning, too!!! :teeth:

Yes. Generally there are Blue Flag boats running in both directions on Bay Lake. If it is going clockwise, CR is the first stop, while if it is going counter-clockwise, it goes to FW and then CR. If the first to arrive is headed to FW next you can hop on, but sometimes it is slightly quicker to wait for the next one if it is close and headed in the opposite direction. Either way though, the Blue Flag boats will get you there.
Thank you!

I've gotten behind here today and I can't multi-quote right now, but I love all the photos and great WL video link. The boats start running at 6:45 and yes, you take the Blue Flag to CR. It's the boat on the right side of the dock as you approach. HERE is more transportation info. from the first page.
You've been so helpful. Thanks!

Argh! I was off by an hour. As WDWKOOK politely corrected me, and as the transportation post shows, the Blue Flag boats start at 6:45, not 5:45 as I had posted.
On West coast time either way is early...

No kidding??!! The 20th Anniversary! Had no idea! You are still a wealth of Disney knowledge, Kook :worship:

Just realized your ticker has changed....a few days at the YC before WL?! :thumbsup2 Did I read that correctly?

Blue Fairy-

Thanks! I know we will have a good time, I'm just upset that I had to replan an entire trip. And I have been looking forward to the WL so much! I have wanted to stay there for 15 years. It's funny you mentioned enjoying the evenings at the boardwalk. That's what my 13 yo dd said.
Did you really find the bus trips long? As we can walk to two parks I was hoping to avoid a rental.

Heather

My hubby and I are traveling to WL in December for our 20th anniversary----first trip without kids!! Trying to decide between Artist Point and a romantic dinner in our room....I'm a very picky eater and am a little worried about booking Artist point. What would you all recommend?? We are also wanting some champagne and maybe strawberries or custom cake in our room....where is the best place to get the champagne...room service or ???? TIA for your help!!

Yes, a change in resort location really does require a lot of rethinking. But that can be fun too. As for the buses, there are times of the year when S/D, YC/BC, and BW all share some bus routes (especially MK, AK, and DTD). We've only been to BW area hotels in low season. Making all of those extra stops really was an adjustment. If I had known then how to research it, I probably would not have been bothered as much. Since you are going at a peak time there might be less sharing due to more full buses. Find the Swan/Dolphin FAQ thread. Those folks are great help at answering questions.

We will be staying at WL for the first time in September. We have breakfast reservations at Chef Mickey's one morning at 7:05. What's the best way to get there? If the ferry doesn't start until 6:45, would we make it in time to the Contemporary? Thanks!

My opinion is that you should be ok as long as you are at the dock by 6:45. Depending on your luck with which direction the first boat to arrive is headed you should still be able to get to CR by 7, leaving you 5 minutes to walk upstairs.

Alternatively you might be able to get an early ADR bus to MK then walk over to CR, but your total travel time would be longer so you would have to start earlier. These buses start running at 6:30.

There's always the Taxi option too, but we would go with the boat, even if we wound up a few minutes late.

Hey all you lodge fans! What should we ( me and 3 teens) do on our first day? We should arrive around noon on June 10. We are club level that night then move to woods view bb room.:dance3:
Not planning on parks that day.

Any ideas are welcome.:worship:
