I'm not sure. We're headed to the BWV in November, and we were wondering if you will still be able to buy Pizza on the Boardwalk now that Kouzzina is closed.

Thanks for posting these pics, 20 days to go for us!!! :)

It's exciting, isn't it? We got our "make your FP+ selections now!" Email yesterday, but we won't be able to activate our AP renewals until we get there.

Well, tomorrow we will be on our way! Cannot wait to get back to the BW. This trip is going to be a non park trip, at least I am going to try. We planned all of our meals at resort restaurants and just plan on laying around the pool and relaxing. I have been helping my son and daughter-in-law with their 3 little ones while my DIL goes through her cancer surgery. I am exhausted!!!

Will be doing a live report and may sneak into Epcot and MK one day.

I'm happy to read this! We just came back from a stay there and I said how easy it would be to do a no resort trip! Lots to do at BW!

Now that Kouzzina is closed does anyone know if the appetizers in the BWI CL lounge from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM have changed?

We were at the BWI CL from Sept 23-30 and asked the CM if the food would be changing. They said that they weren't expecting any changes because most of the food came from a central kitchen and not from Kouzzina. Some of the breakfast items come from the bakery. I would love some of the coconut shrimp that they had one evening right now, it was so good.

I am sure this is the 500th time someone has asked about this, but going through over 100 pages of threads was a little daunting to me. Bottom line, can someone give me the pros and cons of a BWI standard room with BW view vs. a BWV studio with BW view and BWV 1 BR with BW view?

I am just wondering why a BWV 1 BR costs nearly the same as a BWI standard room which is less space. Here are my quotes for room only for 4 people (2 adults, 10yo, 16 yo) for 5 nights in January:

BWI standard with preferred (BW) view $2166
BWV Studio with preferred (BW) view $1452
BWV 1 BR with preferred (BW) view $2106

:confused3:confused3:confused3:confused3

Thanks, everyone.

We have arrived at the BW and are very pleased with our room. We are in 5291 facing the front of the resort. There are trees blocking the driveway and we are fine with it. I do like the rehabbed rooms. The colors are very soothing, just not very themed. I do like the new sinks and bathrooms. The hall carpet is nice also.

We had a late lunch at the bakery, I got the lobster roll, Jim got the roast beef sandwich. We are sitting on the big porch overlooking the boat dock. Weather is beautiful. Will post more later. I did go by the lounge to see my "family" and I do NOT like the carpet there!!!

Are your villas price from disney or renting points?

The villas tend to be a little diffferent since they are a time share property. They don't get updated as often. If you stay on points from a rental you don't get daily housekeeping.

I would recommend paying rack rate at DVC resort. It usually isn't as bad as a regular deluxe rack rate. I think we paid less than $350 a night for OKW two weeks ago and since we didn't pay through DVC, just via regular rates, we got daily housekeeping.

DINNER MENU LOCATED HERE

A new Italian restaurant, Trattoria al Forno, will open December 18, 2014 on Disney's BoardWalk, replacing Kouzzina by Cat Cora. Kouzzina closed on September 30. The new restaurant will serve simple Italian dishes and feature many foods baked in a wood-burning oven, including a selection of Neopolitan-style pizzas. Handcrafted mozzarella will be created in house daily, as well as cavatelli pasta. Antipasto platters will feature Italian meats, olives and caponata. Reservations can be made for Trattoria al Forno starting on October 21, 2014.

Another beautiful day at the BW. We had breakfast at Captains Grille. It was very good, both of us had the buffet. When we were walking back to the BW we almost went into Epcot, but decided we may go in later for Fish and Chips. We are off to lay by the pool for a while.

Great information, thanks:)

It wasn't the 500th time, and even if it was, it's never a problem asking questions here…but, we may not always have all the answers;)

Don't forget that you can always apply any applicable discounts such as General Public, Military, AP, FL Resident... when you book a DVC cash reservation or a non-DVC room. You can also book, when available, packages with Free Dining. A percentage off or FD can really help to bring down the cost. I believe that a BWI Standard View room would cost less than a One-Bedroom villa.

The Studios are generally smaller than a STD non-villa room. If you aren't using points and staying on a cash reservation, then the only benefit is that it has a kitchenette. If you don't have to have the kitchen, then the BWI room is more desirable. If you want to have a whirlpool tub, washer/dryer and a door to your bedroom, then the one-bedroom would be better for you over the BWI STD room.

You're off to a great start:goodvibes

Thank you for checking in with us and you were right, you are having a very relaxing stay:thumbsup2. Have fun in the WS later.

As long as the rasberry-peanut butter cake rollups are still there, that's all that matters! ;)

We expect to start consuming them on Sunday.

All the best. :thumbsup2

Getting ready to head over to Epcot. We had a very relaxing day by the pool. We will stroll though the booths at F&F and get some dinner. It is difficult being so close and not going into Epcot! I will say, so far I am enjoying only doing the parks for a couple hours. I am sure if I had to buy passes I would feel differently. With my MEP, we are able to do this.

I will try to answer any question, feel free to ask. We may do a DVC tour tomorrow, never did one. They are giving a $100 Disney gift card for doing the tour. Who knows it may be a future investment.
