We just did Wild Africa Trek the end of January. If you are a Disney VISA holder, there are discounts at certain times. I highly HIGHLY recommend this tour. You cannot believe how close you get to the animals. I just posted picture on FB. I'll have to post some here, if it's not too off topic. Actually, I think there was a thread I was following. I should post them there. I cannot recommend this more highly. It is with every penny.

I will have to search out that thread. And I do have the Disney visa so I will be sure to mention it when I book.

I had booked a deluxe club level for 10.18.14 - 10.24.14 on a bounceback offer in December 2013 thinking my husband would come with me (Because I KNOW that this is the time he will finally like Disney). Well he is starting a new job and he will be getting much less PTO so he couldn't do the whole 6 days. So I talked to my mom because I don't want to go for less days, but I also don't think I would enjoy staying and being there alone... My mom agreed to come for the part of the trip that my husband can't, but it seems like a waste for her to come down for just 2 days. We came up with a plan to extend the trip to 10 days (which is a dream come true for me).

Well, the bounceback line said that the Deluxe Club Level wasn't available for bounceback for all the days I needed and they couldn't do a split reservation so I could switch to a different resort for the second part with me getting a bounceback discount on both reservations. I need the deluxe Club Level because it is the only CL that is guaranteed boardwalk View (and that is the 1 thing my dh wanted) I decided to call the bounceback line everyday to see if the deluxe room became available and after 3 days it did!!!

Where are Boardwalk View Club Level rooms located? That's what I want next time. And could you tell me what the Bounceback line is? Thanks.

Just to help justify the cost, don't forget lunch is included too, catered by Tusker House. When we went in January, it cost us $160 with the discount. The price does vary by season.

Jen, how long was Sunrise Safari? Always wanted to do it, but could never book AKL concierge with points. Wild Africa Trek is three hours and you don't have to get up early ;-)

Sent from my Nexus 7 using DISBoards

The Sunrise Safari was about 2 hours on the tour and ended with the most amazing breakfast buffett.

Last year I did 3 concierge level trips (BW/ CL/ & AKL) and the AKL staff was the best by far.

If you want a guaranteed Boardwalk View you will need to book Deluxe Club Level. The 2 times we have stayed there we have had a room over the bakery and a room over the sweets shop. It is a really big room with 2 queen beds and a nice size sitting area (think couch and a chair) the couch in the sitting area is a sleeper.
I know that some of the regular club level rooms do have a boardwalk view, but not all of them.

Thanks for the review. I might have to look into the Backstage Magic Tour. That is the one that goes to several parks, right?

Yes, that tour goes to Epcot, MK, DHS, and AK. We had lunch at WL. It was an all day tour -- started at about 8:00 at Epcot and finished at about 4:30.

Hello all! My mom and I are going on a quick Mother-Daughter trip in May and will be staying at Boardwalk for the first time!! :cool1: We've stayed many a night at other onsite hotels, but this will be the first in an EPCOT area resort, and we can't wait!

Just a couple of quick questions; 1) What coffee makers are currently in the room (standard room), I've seen pics that seem to show different machines? And where is your favorite place(s) at Boardwalk to get your coffee if you aren't making it in your room?

And 2) Any tips as to room requests? I've read different suggestions, such as asking for a room on a higher floor.

Thanks. I'll keep trying for it.

I am trying to figure out how an "Originally posted by me (chskover)" was a quote I never wrote. Weird Post #2013

Sometimes quoting on the phone app is a pain. I quoted WDWKOOK and may have deleted the wrong text in trying to just keep the section I was responding to.

...Question though:
We are looking to book a few tours, has anyone done -
Disney's Key to the Kingdom Tour
Behind the Seed
Wild Africe Trek

....

We've done all three. I think I liked the Wild Africa Trek best. We took our son and his friend on the tour with us, and of the four of us, three are a bit scared of heights. We all survived and had a wonderful time. I really enjoyed the snack at the boma on the savanna.

Behind the Seeds was also enjoyable because our son is a Horticulture/ Landscape Management major. We did this one twice because it isn't very expensive at all. And you can sign up on the same day for a tour.

Keys to the Kingdom was nice and we had a pretty good guide. The lunch at Columbia Harbor House was good.

We have an Epcot Gardens of the World tour set up for during Flower and Garden this year.

When they start offering the F&W events, make sure you know what you want and book them as soon as you can. If you have a Disney VISA, you get a day head start on booking.

Thanks! I was a little back and forth on the Wild Africa Trek, not because of me, but because my mom isn't crazy about heights. I think we will definitely book it.
I wish we could do the Gardens of the World tour, but we had to choose between the Garden Festival and the Food and Wine Festival and well food and wine always wins out lol.
We both have a Disney visa so we will keep an eye out for the list of events for the food and wine. I hope they have the Parisian Brunch again this year.

PS it is a good thing we were able to do the 10 days because I had already picked 11 restaurants I wanted to eat at plus the food and wine kiosks.
Your persistence paid off:thumbsup2. I'll log your dates.

They are located directly above the BW. But, as a PP said, they aren't guaranteed, but you can request one.

There is coffee available right downstairs at the Belle Vue Lounge and the BWB.

What room view did you book? Standard? Those can have views of the garden, Epcot (Eiffel Tower), pool, canal or parking lot. You can add a request for any of those views. The highest non-CL floor is the 5th. You and your mom are going to love being right on the BW and walking to so many great places:goodvibes

Thank you so much! :thumbsup2 You can tell that coffee is an important aspect of our daily lives. lol This way we know what to bring with.

We went with Standard view, as we aren't that picky and it is our first stay here, as it is a short stay we decided to go standard first and scope things out. I really appreciate you listing the views for us, it will help when we do online check in. We are extremely excited to stay here; knowing we'll be able to walk to EPCOT is huge for us this trip. :cloud9:

Forgot to say :welcome: to the DIS and the thread! Online check-in is fine to do, but you won't be able to make those requests. OCI has only a few pre-set choices, and some may not even be applicable to your booking. Make sure you call the WDTC and add any requests to your reservation that way:)

Ahhh, got ya! Good to know. Thank you for the welcome and the info! :goodvibes

I rented points thru Davids for the boardwalk in October. I was told on the phone that there was a preferred room and a boardwalk view that were both available at the same price. Naturally we stated we wanted the boardwalk view. In the rental agreement it stated preferred room, but when I linked it to MDX its states garden pool view. Is there a difference between the two? Can I still request a bw view room from Disney?

Does anyone know what time the store and or bakery is open until in the evening where we could buy milk ( for coffee) and a few breakfast items? We are arriving at MCO 8:15 so didn't know if it would still be open by the time we get there with ME.

I believe you have pool/garden view, not boardwalk view from the sounds of that. If that is the case, then you can't get boardwalk view I think. I'd check with Davids.

I think if the Bakery is closed, the Screen Door General Store should be open fairly late to get a few things for breakfast. Plus for milk and stuff, I'd get it there over the Bakery.

We own at AKV but are excited to try out Saratoga and BWV in June. We have a pool view studio but we are wait listed for a boardwalk. A little pixie dust would be nice! :wizard: :goodvibes Just a girl's trip, no husbands or kids! We booked the new Illuminations Dessert Party Friday the 13th of June and figured it would be easier to take a boat home instead of bus. BWV
06/13 - 06/15! :cool1::cool1:
