(CLOSED) Disney's BOARDWALK INN and VILLAS INFORMATION THREAD

I can't answer either of these questions, but I can just comisserate about the external sink areas in so many of the Disney resorts. I understand the reasoning behind it -- it allows big families to have some people get ready at the sink(s) while another is in the shower or "using the facilities." But it definitely makes it weird from a privacy standpoint.

I know they put curtains up in the moderates and I believe the values. I was shocked to not have a curtain last year at BWI.

I was just going to comment on this. Stayed at POFQ this past weekend and noticed the privacy curtains. Very convenient.

I'm wondering the same thing but for BWI. I'd like to put up a rod in the bathroom sink area. When we stayed last year, with the position of the mirror on the door, there was no privacy at all. The bathroom is a bit cramped for getting dressed, so the ideal area is by the sinks.

If anyone is there now and can measure, how wide is that opening?

Thanks so much!!!

Just wanted to share what I've come up with in case it helps you and others. I don't think that a rod will work. I think one that would be wide enough will be too long to fit in a suitcase. Plus it could damage the walls. So I'm going to bring two (damage-free) large 3M wire hooks like the one below and place them on either side of the hallway opening of the bedroom area. Then have a nice fabric shower curtain and hook that across when needed using the holes at the top. I'll take the curtain down other times.

Maybe that is what we will do also.

Thanks :)

On the main page you have me doen for 10.18 - 10.24 Deluxe CL
but we are actually 10.17 - 10.27 Deluxe CL

:)

I have been reading and realized that I haven't asked to be added to the list. My mom and I are staying at the BWI CL on 5/2-5/5. This will be my third trip (this one is without my teenage kids) and my mom's first trip to WDW. We are so excited!

Just back from our first stay at BWV. Loved the location, we walked to Epcot several evenings. Was especially wonderful with the flower and garden festival going on. Also, a very nice surprise that I had no idea was even a possibility - we could see illuminations from the living room window. My daughters enjoyed that so much. We had a one bedroom standard view.

Just realized I never gave our dates for the first page. We will be there July 31st-Aug 9th 2014. DH, DD, DD's friend, and I. Good times!:cool1: Thanks Kook!

I love the Boardwalk. I own at OKW but always try to get a room at Boardwalk. 2 stays coming up. 4/7/14 - 4/11/14 and 9/8/14 - 9/12/14. Can't wait. .
Could you put my dates on the first page. Thank you

WDWKOOK - I'm back at BWV 10/7- 10/10/14, if you would kindly add me to the first page. Thanks.

I rented points thru Davids for the boardwalk in October. I was told on the phone that there was a preferred room and a boardwalk view that were both available at the same price. Naturally we stated we wanted the boardwalk view. In the rental agreement it stated preferred room, but when I linked it to MDX its states garden pool view. Is there a difference between the two? Can I still request a bw view room from Disney?
fyi, BWVs have standard view, and two different preferred views: preferred pool/garden view and preferred BW view (the two preferred views cost the same amount of points).
it is possible that both preferred P/G and preferred BW were available when you were on the phone with david's, and BW view simply became unavailable upon actual booking (inventory changes constantly, and DVC resorts run at very high capacity).
however.......considering October is during the F&WF, and the BWV (especially standard and preferred BW views) have been booked pretty solid since 11 months out, it would've been more likely that they were simply informing you of the 3 view options, putting both preferred views into one grouping.
it can't hurt to ask david's if the owner would be willing to waitlist BW view for you tho.
Congratulations on getting the BWVs in oct :thumbsup2

Our trip's all finalized now - we'll be staying CL at the BWI 4-8 May!

We honeymooned at Disney but stayed at the CBR. This will be our first stay on the Boardwalk (and our son's first visit to the World!)

:goodvibes

So nice that you're taking a mother-daughter trip and it's coming up soon!

I hope you get to book another trip to WDW soon:)

Do you have all your ADRs booked yet? Sounds like you're going to have lots of fun.

Could you put my dates on the first page. Thank you

Kook-LOL I have our next three trips in the next three years written out with where we are eating, what days we are going to which park, etc. I am definitely a planner. DD wants some of her senior pics done at the Boardwalk and EPCOT so we are putting that into the plan next summer as well. The same friend will be joining us then so she can be in pics, as well as DDs good friend from Florida.:thumbsup2

I went back and looked at my conversations with David's and I did state that we wanted the BV that we discussed. I believe I was dealing with a newer employee who booked the preferred view without checking with me first. No big deal though, I've been put on the waiting list and I would have booked the preferred view if the boardwalk view wasn't available anyway. Hoping it does come available but not counting on it. Either way my 33rd birthday and 10th wedding anniversary are going to be spent with no kids at WDW.

OK, I know I should already know the answer to this...

We are staying in a Deluxe CL the first week of August. I know that the lounge is being rehabbed before we get there. But, what about the actual rooms? Are they going to get a refurb too?

Nothing has been announced yet, and no clear rumors. It doesn't seem like it, but ya never know. :confused3

I was able to book the Deluxe CL room with the 30% off Summer discount this morning.

I missed this post because I was following this thread on 3/18:
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=50983862

I'm curious how you may have gotten 30% off with this promo?

I called three times that day, the first two CM's told me that there were no more BWI deluxe CL rooms available for that time (early Aug) with thsi promo. But when I spoke with a third CM (who was the most informative) she told that there was only one deluxe CL room that had been made available for this promo (and already sold out) but that it was only available at a 10% discount.

Checking online the price of WL deluxe CL rooms -which are a similar size to BWI deluxe CL - it definitely showed a 10% discount. This is consistent with the WDW website which says: Moderate and Deluxe Resort suites may be available at a lesser discount.

So how, may I ask, were you able to get a 30% discount?

DH and I were talking this morning about how much we are looking forward to our fall BWI stay. :cool1:

Kook, do you have information about what they are going to do with the lounge rehab? Can I hope for a little lounge frig for my diet coke rather than the
box of melting ice?
Are they doing any other updates at BWI? Thanks a bunch for any and all info! :flower3:
