(CLOSED) Disney's BOARDWALK INN and VILLAS INFORMATION THREAD

Visiting this thread for the first time since we just booked BWV 1 BR for 6/29-7/6. We have stayed at YC/BC before, but never BW, and reading all the posts here is fun!

Any tips for the best way to celebrate July 4th on the Boardwalk? We're thinking of heading to MK on the 3rd, but staying around the resort/Epcot on the 4th.

Hey, I've looked quite a few places, but no answer:

Where does one get their refillable mugs filled at Boardwalk? I'm sure it's an easy answer, and I'd figure it out as soon as I checked in, but I'm curious!

Right next to the bakery on the boardwalk is the refill station. There's a big sign that directs you where it is :)

DW and I, along with DD and DSiL, are returning to the BWV from June 1st thru June 6th. This will be our 2nd stay in one of our home DVC resorts and this time in a 2br standard view. I love this thread. I learn something with nearly every visit here! Thanks to all.

:welcome: to the DIS and the BWI/BWV thread!

The locations are listed on the first page of the thread:

DRINK REFILLS are available at BoardWalk Bakery, BoardWalk Joe's, The BoardWalk Pizza Window, Seashore Sweets and Leaping Horse Libations.

Not quite a bird's eye view :lmao:, but I like it. :thumbsup2
I like it, too and thanks for posting.

More like an elephant's butt view, but still a great picture. C'mon October.
HA! Very realistic circus-like setting:thumbsup2

Welcome to the thread! I've never been at WDW on July 4, so I can't comment, but I hope you have a wonderful vacation! I'll log your dates.

Nice to see you all the way over here from VWL. Will you be doing a TR? I'll add your dates to the BB.

Just booked BWV 2 bedroom for 9/21-9/27 I'm SO EXCITED!!! :cool1::banana::cool1::banana:

Can't wait to get back to get back to my happy place!!!

We will be staying in a standard studio May 23-27 before heading to Vero Beach.
We land at 10:10 AM so I was going to request early check. Any chance of that happening? We've had great luck in the past at OKW & BC.

Also, what other preference besides early check in would you suggest at BW? We don't like a long walk down the hallways or much noise. The kids like to swim so maybe near the main or quiet pools?

Lastly, does anyone have a list of the children's activities at the Community Hall?

thanks,;)

I think I read that there is now a sep. line at the bakery for refills. I hope so. at the Dig Site pool at Coronado it was irritating to wait in a line of people ordering food just to get refills.

are we sure they will continue to give refills at the Leaping Libations pool bar? they were on our last trip, but that was when the bakery was closed for refurbishment. I hope so, because who wants to venture out onto the boardwalk in your swimsuit? (not I!) I just wonder becuase at POR riverside, they would not fill your mugs. you had to walk across the bridge to the food court. actually, same thing with most pool bars, if I remember correctly.

RE: BWI Bakery Refill station---As you face the bakery, there's a separate set of doors to the right (very clearly marked) which bypasses the food line and allows quick refills. I can't confirm the refills at Leaping Libations since I didn't refill there.

Are any refill stations at BW open 24hrs? We are staying club level and considering the value of purchasing mugs this year. Most of our resort time is spent by the pool. I don't think anyone is going to want to walk onto the boardwalk to refill.

Maybe we should just bring our old mugs and fill them in the lounge before heading down to swim.

I'm joining in.... Our family will be staying at BWV for 3 nights in August. It's the first part of our split stay (we're also staying at VWL and AKV) and will be the first time we stay here. I hope to learn as much as possible so we can get the most out of our stay!

I think for a Standard studio you'll have competing priorities. The ones closest to the elevators overlook the Port Cochere (car entrance), and so are the loudest. The ones furthest from the elevators are the quietest.

When we were there in November, well after the Bakery refurb, we got refills from the pool bar without any problems. My wife thought their diet soda was a little flat, though, so we used the Bakery anyway. You can supposedly also get refills from the Belle Vue lounge, but that's not open all day. I don't think you'll find anything "24 hours" as in the middle of the night. :thumbsup2

You'll be able to grab cans of soda to put in your mini-fridge. The CL CM's will get you what you need if it's not out. If you want ice, grab a few disposable cups in the lounge and either fill them with ice there or get your in room ice bucket filled. I wouldn't bother with the added expense of the refillable mug--but I'm happy with using the CL amenities.

Then you may have to call and add that request. I don't believe that is an option during online check in.

In the past, although at other resorts, I've faxed my requests directly to the resort three days in advance. I was told that's when the room assigner assigns the rooms. We have gotten our requests. So, you might want to ask now, then fax three days in advance of your arrival. Include special celebrations, special need info, and lots of thank yous.

ahhhhhh :cloud9:

isn't it interesting that BW photos don't need photoshop? the resort is stunning without any changes :thumbsup2

Totally agree!!

The Boardwalk doesn't accept faxes for room requests anymore, most resorts stopped accepting them many years ago, although I know a few of the Moderates still do. Calling the main booking line (or member services for DVC bookings) is the way to go now. :thumbsup2
