(CLOSED) Disney's BOARDWALK INN and VILLAS INFORMATION THREAD

Thank you for this wonderful thread! I have been reading for a while to get ready for my first trip "home" to BWV. We are so excited. I have a standard view 1br booked on points. We are light sleepers, so would prefer not to be right over the main entrance. From reading here, I think I want to request a tennis court view. Should I so request upper floor? Not sure what the best way to word it is. I don't want to be picky, and don't really care what the actual view is... Quiet is the priority.

Also, what number to I call to make the request? To I call the Boardwalk Villas number in the first page of the thread, or Member services? This is my first DVC stay, so I am clueless. Lol!

We will be there Nov 1-5 if you want to add me to the list.

Thanks!

I got on the DVC website and sent them an email via that site. First time I've ever made a request, but I got a response from them so I am comfortable with the idea that they have it. (Of course, the response is basically "thanks for contacting us but we make no promises.") LOL!

I would recommend asking for "top floor, far from elevators" which may indeed put you across from the tennis courts or valet parking lot. Of course this will subject you to the dreaded long walk to the elevators, but that is very overrated unless you have mobility issues. Plus being far from the elevators means you're closer to the bus stop, the quiet pool, Community Hall and the walkway to DHS. On balance, we think far from elevators is the best location.

Daybed, standard room, anyone??? :) Just the other day my girls decided they will NOT share a bed. Ahhhh the joys of sisters.

The standard rooms have a daybed. DS sleeps on it very comfortably and happily very away from his sister LOL

Thanks, MAO!

Thanks, Pete! I don't mind being far from the elevators if it means I'm close to everything else, which sounds awesome! Plus, a good nights sleep trumps them all! So excited!

Does anybody have the October activities sheet?

Is there something specific you want to know about the schedule or just browse it? I'm at the BWV and thus obviously got the schedule. Having a look for specific things is no biggie. Can also see if I can easily upload a pic with my cell phone, but would have to figure out how easy or difficult the dis-app makes that on me. ;)

Nevermind. I got it. I wanted to see the actual activities they have going on for Halloween. If anyone needs it...

Just so others know, the BWI/BWV activity calendar is hyperlinked in Post #1. Sometimes it can take a few days at the beginning of the month to update, but it does link to the October calendar now.

Waitlist for 12/30 BWV-1Bd Boardwalk view came through:cool1: Now have all four night in same room and will not have to change rooms on 12/31.

I Have read through this thread in two days and thank you all for the information.

There is only one room type I do not want which are the ground floor boardwalk views. Can I put in a request for a room type I do not want or should I put in a different request?

how about a request for a higher floor? Is there such thing as a ground floor with boardwalk views? I thought the Boardwalk was all shops and restaurants - nothing on the villa side at ground level with a Boardwalk view. Maybe I'm wrong!

There are 3 or 4 rooms on the ground floor next to Big River. I always thought I would hate those rooms with people walking by. It used to be the DVC office.
