CLOSED COMPLETE Disney Sketch Swap

Thanks. Will have to go and check it out. I hope you post it in the new sketch sticky.

:rolleyes1 Apparently I have a polka dot phobia. I have no paper with dots except the ones that came with Nana's Kids.

AWM, I've been working on my page for B1 and I have a prototype finished, but I need your approval on it since I kind of strayed from the sketch a bit. I don't have anything glued down so it'll be easy to change if needed.

I rotated the sketch since the paper I wanted to use had the wildlife circle with tree in the bottom left. That paper is a thicker patterned paper, but not as heavy as cardstock so I have it on top of another thicker patterned paper with an Africa theme to it.

Then, I cut the 2 different shades of paper to go on top and I didn't like the way they looked the original way so I changed which one went on top.

I didn't like anything I tried for a title so I ended up spelling out Animal Kingdom and wrapping it around the corner of the page and moved the embellishment to the corner.

The big blank space will have lines for journalling. I also thought it looked too bare so I added some animal silhouettes there even though there isn't anything on the original sketch.

Basically, I just kept playing with this until I was happy with it, but I want to make sure it's okay that I strayed so much from the sketch. I'll go back to the drawing board on it if you'd like me to stay more on course with the sketch.

The colors are off a bit in the photo since I took the photo at my work table and the light there for photos stinks. But, since nothing is glued down, I didn't want to move it.

Thanks!

:confused3 It looks enough like B2 for me to think you used that sketch. It is more like a mirror image than rotated, but I'm good with it. :thumbsup2

I like it lots. So unless someone in the group doesn't like it, I say go for it. If someone really doesn't like, please do not hesitate to say so. I can make something different for you. And I'll keep DIT's. :teeth: I like happy swappers.

Thanks! I was hoping it was okay because I really liked it and didn't really want to change it.:goodvibes

I'm not in that exact group DIT...but I love it... It looks great!!!!! but my vote doesn't really mean much!!!

I am checking in and trying to figure out how to post pics. They are both rough anyway, but I wanted to make sure they looked okay. My computer savvy brother will be here Monday to help. They ate on photobucket, so that's a plus. Halfway there, right?

BTW, everytime a page is posted, I think, Gee, I wish I was in that group, too! Such amazing talent! At this rate, I'll have to plan another trip for all the page ideas I'm borrowing! Will post Monday!

:) Glad to hear you will have help with the picture posting. Once you do it, it won't be difficult anymore.

Looking forward to seeing what you have made. :thumbsup2

Here's mine for group A1. It feels like it needs something (the journal blocks will be uniform, I'll make a SCAL file, for some reason, I can't cut a straight line with my cutter!).

Suggestions? Comments? Criticism? Throw it out?

I bet just inking the edges of the white paper will make that whole layout pop.

Jennifer ~
on the one I attached the place holder to the sketch, I cut them to the specific size so that the photo could just be place on it...
The other 2 sketches, I did not put place holders on at all other than in the photos (I think I did)..but if I didn't I put the place holder on when I was adhering everything...

The one time I tried making the incremented matting, it threw my sketch off...

Yeah, I wasn't sure about that. I think I'll just keep the place holders there as they are and find a way to get some other texture on there.
