I just want and viewed Disney's web site. I was CRUSHED that turtle talk will be closed during our visit. :cold: We were so looking forward to finding Nemo and seeing crush! I am confused why it would be, as I thought this was a new attraction! :sad2:

From Disney's web site
Turtle Talk with Crush will not be operating August 21 through late November, 2005 however we recommend "Honey, I Shrunk The Audience" as an alternative during this time.

The Living Seas will not be operating August 21 through late November, 2005 however we recommend Living with the Land as an alternative during this time.

It looks as though the Living Seas will be going through some updates/refurbs. Since thats where Turtle Talk is housed--guests won't be able to enjoy either attraction.

Would this mean that the Coral Reef would also be closed? Does anyone know from past experience if they would close the restaurant when the Living Seas has been rehabed in the past?

BOO HISS! That stinks! We were really looking forward to this :(

Was this info just posted today or did I miss it? I will be there when it is closed too:(

WOW! Thanks for the head's up, that is disappointing, I will make sure and take dd to the Chicago Aquarium... she spends hours and hours in the Aquarium, never saw Turtle talk... Crushing indeed! :(

To answer my own question, I just called WDW and the CM said that the Coral Reef would not be affected. She put me on hold for a few seconds to find out, so I don't think that she was just guessing or anything.

I just called the Dining Reservations number and asked them about Coral Reef.

The CM told me that Coral Reef will be unaffected and the dining experience will remain the same. She told me she had the same concerns when she heard about the renovations since she has dinner planned there at the end of August.

She also said that the information she has states that it is just the section with Turtle Talk/Crush that will be closed and undergoing renovations, but that at least part of the attraction will be open. Of course, that is subject to change.

I think it is weird though because when Sept. hours came out the only thing I saw that was going to be closed was Ice Station Cool. Now it does not show it being closed.
I AM SO CRUSHED...dont want to tell the kids they are big NEMO fans! :earseek:
BOOHOO ON DISNEY! :badpc:

We are sooooo sad about this :guilty:

This is a huge disappointment. This was our number one thing on our must-do list. I really wish they had gotten their stuff arranged and scheduled before they hyped up this big "celebration". For us to plan this special trip and then have them close this attraction with about a 30 day notice really stinks. Maybe we should have gone somewhere else this year!! I just wish we had known this before our final payment was due pirate:

Shame on you Disney. Just seems that other rehabs are given much more notice :confused3

Enough ranting. I am sure we will go and find many other fantastic things to do and see. This will not ruin our trip. My kids will probably even forget about it if we don't walk by it ;) Disney will still be a magical place for all of us!!!

Wow, that is disappointing news. My kids & I were looking forward to it. The concept is different from other things at WDW so we were very much looking forward to it. Sheesh!

As you can tell from my tag..I like Crush. My wife (who is a WDW virgin) and I really like aquariums and sea creatures...so this is pretty disappointing. But I suppose in the grand scheme of things, it could be worse. I would rather the Living Seas be closed than say M:S, Soarin or TT. And this increases the possibility of the seasonal attractions being open.

I'm sorry it's closed. It was something we really wanted to see as well. But would you really have cancelled your trip before your final payment, knowing of Turtle's rehab first? I find that a little unbelievable, considering how little else seems to be down for rehab at that time. I can't believe anyone would expect Disney to consult with people who haven't made their final payments on their trip about their rehab schedule.

Also, maybe there is some unforeseen problem with the Living Seas building that required quick action. Maybe this problem was not something that allowed more notice before shutting down attractions within it.

Again, I hate that Turtle Talk will be closed when I'm there. But I'd rather see Disney take care of the building, and make sure everything is safe and in working order, than have some attraction that does not work properly and/or be in an unsafe or decrepit building.

Am I sad Turtle Talk is closed? YES
BUT that means we just need to plan a return trip sooner :cool1: :cool1:

How are the may crowds? :rotfl: :rotfl:

I noticed some DIS'ers have photos in front of a Nemo type display, which has all kinds of pretty sea looking plants and I think one or more Nemo characters. Is this still going to be open, and where is it?
Thanks!

There is a sculpture of Nemo outside of the entrance to Living Seas, not sure if that is the one you are thinking of, I have seen it in some sigs - its a very large Nemo, with sea looking plants around it, its easy to see when you get in the park and head to living seas....

Yes very crushing my family and i have bypassed that attraction and we where going to do that this trip... :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

Oh I am so upset by this. We are going in October and at the end of November but our AP's expire the 29th of November :( Hopefully it will open sometime in November towards the end or I am going to have to wait until Dec 06. :(

I was waiting for this.

We always go the first week of Sept and since it's so slow (historically, anyway) there are lots of refurbs going on. Last time was much worse. In that one week, Festival of the Lion King, BTMRR, RnRC and something else major was closed. I've never seen Turtle Talk and was looking forward to it, but it could be worse. Heck, it might GET worse. :(
