How close can ADRs be before the system won't let you book both?

FP+ availability and show schedules will impact whether I do a late breakfast or a lunch. Can I book a 10:30am and a 12:00pm reservation at the same restaurant on the same day?

To be clear, I don't want to eat twice back to back. I just want to have the option and then cancel the one I don't need when the rest of the schedule is released.

I'm not sure the exact time, but I just tried for the sake of curiosity to make a 5:00 ressie (when I already have a 6:30 booked somewhere) and it let me. I tried to make a 5:30, and it told me I'd have to pick between the two. ETA: I tried to book at 5:20, and it also allowed it.

So, I'd say you can book them 1 hour and 10 minutes apart, lol.

I think you'll be good to go! :)

(We currently have a 3:00 Mama Melrose Fantasmic! Dinner package booked and a 4:45 Prime Time Cafe ressie scheduled. I don't know which will work best for our January plans, so I just booked both for now)

This is typical- an hour and 10 minutes seems to be the cutoff. If that doesn't work for your schedule you have 2 options: have someone else in your party with a MDE account book the other reservation (it won't realize you're going in their party and vice versa), or you can call the reservation line and they can usually override it (but may ask for the name of someone else in your party to assign it to). A word of advice if you use these options- whoever they assign it to would then be the person who has to cancel it, so make sure it's someone who will do that if you need to.

Yes- you'll be fine to do that. I've done the same thing- got a better time with about an hour difference and reserved it. I was ready for the system to say I had to cancel the first reservation, but it didn't. So I booked the new time and then cancelled the first reservation myself.

Hmmm, I really should be able to trust my husband on this... :-p

I'm so type A, I want to be able to control everything in my mde! Good to know that's a back up if I need to put them any closer.

I understand! DH is really good at a lot of things but remembering to cancel the ADR is NOT one of them! I set a reminder on my phone and then text him. I check again on the day it has to be cancelled by.
