Close to adding on...but where? BCV or AKV or wait for GCV?

I have had addonitis for over a year now and it's driving me crazy. My DH has been waiting for his job to change or his company to get bought. It seems like something is going to happen soon, so I've finally discussed adding on 100 points and he hasn't said no :), but I still have to be patient and wait.

Our home resort is BCV, which we absolutely love. We want to be able to go to WDW every year for 6 nights in a 2 bedroom versus every other year as our current 170 points (Feb UY) allow. We also want to visit DL every year for 3 nights. Clearly I need more than 170 + 100, but 100 seems like the max we can even consider adding on right now. Even 50 might be more realistic.

AKV is tempting with the extra 15 years and nice, new, spacious villas. BCV is home and we don't like to change resorts (already did that last year and it was exhausting!). DH says that the 15 years aren't a big deal to him.

So, should I get on the waitlist for any increment of 25 BCV points now (though I can't really buy them for another month or so), or wait until it's closer to my Feb UY to get previous year's points? Should I buy into AKV and figure that moving will be fun and the kids will get used to it every year? Does anyone know if I can add on 100 at AKV when my UY is Feb, and still get 07 points? :confused3

I suppose when GCV gets announced, we will be able to add on enough for 3 nights a year there....;)

Personally, if my goal is 6 nights a year in a 2bedroom villa, I'd concentrate enough points in one resort to do this. Moving can get very tedious. And the most you'll get with 50 points at AKV is one night in a 2 bedroom (2 nights wth 100 points).

IMO.... Its all a matter of personal preferrence and life stages.
I'll be 97 when my contract ends in 42, so, the extra yrs. don't matter. Don't forsee ever having a problem getting ressies in the large resorts...if so, OK, force me to stay @ my "home" :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
I added on to my home....giving me much more power for accomodation size, lenght of stay, no borrowing pts.
I like having "ALL" my eggs in 1 basket, the ability to manage 1 contract with tons of pts, to make 1 ressie @ 11/7 mo. :thumbsup2

I too would suggest adding on at your home resort. Even adding on 100 points, you still will be pinched for every year, so do your 100 point addon "at home", and dont worry about GCV unless and until it happens.

Thanks, everyone, for the suggestions. We will definitely get on the list for BCV points when the job thing gets solidified...though I'm bummed out about the huge price increase! $101/point, egads :( ! Maybe I should look for a resale contract instead of buying direct. Or maybe by then, GCV will be announced and we'll change to that resort instead.

Last year, we were thinking of adding on just 25 points and I got on the list when the price was $92, and the points came in when it was $95, and my guide said that they couldn't honor the lower price. By then we had purchased another timeshare anyhow, so we declined the points because we had just paid out money for the other timeshare, but I was under the impression that the lower price would be honored. Has this been anyone else's experience?

When we bought our BCV the price went up to 95 but we had been on the list when it was 92 so that was our price.

Thanks, Jodie. That's what I thought would have happened for us, but our guide told us differently at the time. How odd. Oh well!
