Close and decent grocery store

I tried to order groceries through Von's, but it won't approve my credit card because it's from Canada. Can anyone recommend a close and good grocery store that I could perhaps walk to or take a short cab ride? This may need to be done after dark on our first day, so bear that in mind. I'd really appreciate the help!!

There is a Von's on Chapman and a Food for Less on West Katella. There is also a Target on Harbor Boulevard and that is probably the closest. You will need to take a cab to any of these as they are all too far to walk.

Does anyone have experience with taking a taxi to Von's? Do you remember the fare? Is there anything closer than Von's?

Food 4 Less on Katella is about a mile west of DLR, but you'd want a cab after dark. It's the closest but not as "decent" as Ralph's at Euclid and Chapman (about 3 miles as the cab flies). Von's at Haster and Chapman is a little closer to DLR.
