I have a question for anyone who has used Clomid before. Is it normal to stilll have very irregular cycles with it? I've only been through 2 rounds, but the first cycle was 21 days long, and this time, I'm on day 45. And no, so far, I'm not pregnant :)

I've looked it up in a bunch of med books, but none of them really address this. Thanks!!

Noi it's not. The Clomid is supposed to stimulate ovulation. If You haven't gotten your period yet, the clomid didn't work. I'd give a call to your dr, you might need a higher dose.

It's been awhile since I was on it but I don't recall my cycles being irregular to the point that I noticed. I will tell you that my sister had paternal twins after taking it. I just had one child though. I forget what the percentage is for multiple births.

I went back and re-read your post. I took Clomid for almost nine months before getting pregnant. It took that and some kind of enormous shot to do the trick. I had been pregnant the year before and miscarried. When I didn't get pregnant again within the year, my doctor started me on Clomid to help us along. I didn't have any trouble getting pregnant the third time with my second child.

Good luck!!!

I had very irregular cycles and took Clomid. It did make me ovulate, but it did not make me get my period. Once they confirmed that I had not gotten PG that cycle, I took another medication to get me to have my period. Then we started over again.

If you have not started your period and you are not pg, then the Clomid did not work. You probably need a higher dosage.

The only thing I know about Clomid is the possibility of a multiple pregnancy.

2 co-workers took Clomid, both had twins!

I have had extensive experience with clomid- I have a few questions for you:
What were your cycles like prior to Clomid? Are you taking your temperature?
What does the chart look like if you are taking your temp?
Essentially what regulates one cycles is ovulation, so it sounds as though you still may not be ovulating properly.

You should be closely monitored by your RE (for follicle size etc) whilst on Clomid - speak to your RE if your cycles seem out of whack.

Oh, I was the "b-ch from hell" on Clomid, thank heavens we switched to injectables after a few months (still not pregnant but no side effects)!!

I was on clomid with my first, a high dose...it took awhile..no multiples.
Clomid doesn't have a high multiples rate..now, perganol Does!
I was on clomid forever to get PG with my 2nd, but went off it after many cycles with it and also profasi.
Ended up getting PG on my own! Go figure...
I was also a totally different person on Clomid! Yowsa! :earseek:
I am starting it again in a couple of weeks after my Provera induced cycle is over and I get some tests done for my PCOS

And, it did take me a bit of time for my cycles to get in line when I first was on Clomid...tell your doc and see what he/she says....
Could be something else going on....

Good Luck :flower:

My OB told me I would only go from a 3% chance of having twins to a 5% of having twins if I took the lowest dose of Clomid........You can see from my user name how the percentages worked for me. :love1:
