Clifton Hill Hotel Choice.

Hi. I want to go and book our family weekend in Niagara Falls for Dec.1st weekend. Last December we stayed at the Comfort Inn, now how does that compare to the Quality Inn next door? Then with all my saved change, I want to take the family to The Rain Forrest for supper. We ate at the one in March at Down Town Disney, but this would be the first for DD 18's boyfriend.
So which one Comfort/Quality?

FYI... Things are so slow down there right now you might be able to stay in one of the higher end hotels. I was shooting down ther last week and Clifton Hill was like a ghost town.

I have stayed in both of these hotels and they are both fine. At the Comfort Inn, you get a continental breakfast. At the Quality Inn, you don't. We thought the rooms were the same quality as well as the pool areas. We like booking the Quality Inn, 900 block for a quiet room with a view of Victoria Park.

On that web site you can pay about the same and stay at the Skyline Inn traditional room type. We spent a weekend there earlier this year and were impressed by the rooms. They have recently been redone and are in good shape. They also offer a waterpark package that we found to be of very good value. For us, we booked the waterpark package for the first night and then room only for the second. If you do go with one of the hotels on the above listed web site, check the rates the week or so before you check in. I watched them daily and when the rate for one of the nights dropped, I called them and they decreased our rate on our ressie accordingly. I am thinking that for the beginning of Dec., you should be able to secure a very good rate.

btw, if you do stay at the Skyline Inn , you can get to the Rainforest Cafe as well as several other attractions without having ot go outside.

Make sure you sign up for weekly specials from www.travelzoo.ca Last year we went the first weekend in December and got an amazing deal. You book directly with the hotel, but travelzoo gives you a discount code. We stayed at the Embassy Suites which is a 4 star hotel. Our package was $125.00 for the four of us. It included buffet breakfast for all of us, $45 voucher for the Keg, unlimited use of the shuttle and 5 drinks at the managers cocktail reception. We had a beautiful suite with 2 queen beds in the bedroom, and a kitchenette, and a livingroom with a pullout sofa. My parents ended up joining our family of four, and we paid an additional $20 for them. We enjoyed the lights and all in all was a very inexpensive mini holiday.

CAA TA here. You should also call your local CAA office and ask them for their special CAA Getaways rates. If you are in Ontario, and booking this far out, especially in the GTA, you will be able to get a great deal for a nice big hotel!

We stay at the Quality Inn every 2nd week in November each year. We like having the pool side rooms. Apparently it is scheduled for demolition in the next couple of years though.

There is a new hotel right near clifton hill called country inn and suites. It has a continental breakfast with waffles and free parking. Great rates because it is brand new. I haven't stayed there yet. Going Oct 20. My sister stayed there and said the rooms were very nice. It sounds like it is walking distance to the falls. It is on victoria ave at the top of clifton hill. If you are interested pm me so that I can pm you after we go.

I've stayed at both hotels for room quality I like the Comfort Inn better the Quality Inn just looked a little run down but that could have just been our room. Going in December is a great time don't forget to check out the festival of lights they have the Enchantment of Disney light display and Beauty and the Best is playing at the Niagara Centre for the Arts.
