Hi HarryHornet and SidB
The Radisson is a great place - all the rooms as suites so whilst you still get 2 kings size beds, there's also a reasonable size bed-settee in the separate lounge. There are also mini-kitchens which have sink and microwaves.
The best thing is the view - from the front (lounge) you look over to the gulf, though the Sheraton SandKey hotel on the opposite side of the road mind you, but still can see the sea

. From your bedroom balcony you look straight over the bay . . . we were on 8th floor and if, like me, you love heights ask for as high as you can possibly get, the views were great and the pelicans flew past every hour of every day we were in the room
The swimming pool is great - has it's own little waterfall.
The walk over the road to the beach is probably no more than 5-6 mins, or the hotel run a courtesy bus which takes you direct on to the beach in Sand Key - one of the US's top parks.
Next to the hotel are The Shoppes on SandKey - a boardwalk takes you down to a number of restaurants (recommend both the Italian and Chinese) and some lovely little gifty type shops - and a cracking deli.
Food in the Radisson is ok, we ate there a couple of times, but in Clearwater itself - a trolley bus ride down the road, there are loads of different types of restaurants.
Only one tip for the hotel - as you're looking at the front of the hotel, ask for your room in the RIGHT HAND SIDE only - there are large extractor fans from the kitchen on the left hand side and even on 8th floor we could feel and hear them. Whilst it didn't ruin the holiday, out of choice would go for the r/h side next time.
If you need any other info on the area let me know - happy to tell you what we did/where we went.
