Clearwater to Disney

How long will it take me to get to All Star Music if I leave Clearwater at 8:00am on a Tuesday morning? Is that late enough to avoid heavy traffic from Tampa to Disney?

I made that trip a couple years ago and it took me about 2 hours........but we don't drive super fast and we left before rush hour (we left around 6am).

When my family and I have driven from Clearwater to WDW we found it takes about an hour and a half.

It takes me about 70 mins to get to the Doubletree Guest Suites in Tampa from WDW...and that's very close to Tampa International. It's about another 20-30 mins from there to Clearwater. But if you aren't getting off the highway, it will most likely take about an hour and 3/4 I would imagine. I would plan on 2 hrs...just in case you hit traffic.
I have to say that I have never seen traffic move so quickly as in Tampa...bumper to bumper at 80. Really scary.

We visit family over in Largo, right next to Clearwater and plan on 1.5 hours.

Thanks for the help. Tampa does sound scary. I might leave really early to get through Tampa before rush hour.

You're welcome and honestly Tampa is not that hard of a city to drive through, so just follow the signs to Interstate 4 and you will be ok.
