Hi. We are looking for someplace to go to unwind for a couple days after Disney and are interested in the Clearwater/St. Petes area. If anyone knows of a nice place (not too expensive) near the water, we would really appreciate the info. We have a 5 yr old dd so it has to be kid friendly. We will be going near the end of March.
Thanks

Keep in mind that it might be chilly to swim still at that point in time. I'd try for a place with a heated pool as well.

I haven't spent any time in that area in so long that I can't give you a hotel suggestion that I'd feel comfortable in giving due to the way that things change with time. I'm sure someone else will offer one though!

Thanks. Its not so important that we swim in the gulf, a heated pool would be fine. Just looking for accommodation recommendations. It seems like there a thousands to choose from, it would be comforting to hear about some first hand experiences.

We've enjoyed both the Dolphin Beach Resort in St. Pete Beach, as well as the Holiday Inn in St. Pete Beach. Both have nice heated pools, are right on the Gulf, and are very nice & clean!

This is my neck of the woods too...ahhhh St. Pete Beach....Be sure to also check out the Don CeSar, it's so beautiful and they have great packages for families right now...and also try the Tradewinds Grande Island, they're kid friendly and have lots of activities! :cloud9:

Thank you princess, I checked them out and they look wonderful but are a bit more than we can afford. Since you are from the area, can you recommend anything else near the water that is a little bit more affordable?
I appreciate your help.

Hi, I'd love to help, check out the Sirata, Howard Johnson, Islands End, Sea Palms, and Tradewinds Sandpiper Resorts; they have lots of great rates (I understand what you mean about The Don CeSar and Tradewinds Grande, they're so beautiful I know....); and be sure to use the Island Trolley, they stop all over St. Pete, to Treasure Island and Madiera, be sure to check out John's Pass for dolphin watching, shoppes, and tons of awesome restaurants!

Also, go to www.stpetebeach.org and see if you can 'snag' a few good deals!

I hope that helps, if not, PM me and I'll see what else I can do for you! :earboy2:

Thanks for the info. I just e-mailed a couple places and will keep you in mind if we have any other questions.
