Hi:
We are planning to go to Clearwater Beach for the day. We have never been. Is there an area in particular for parking that anyone can suggest or is it pretty much all the same? Also, we will be renting chairs and an umbrella. Any suggestions on the best place to rent would be great.
Thank you.

We are planning to do the same thing, so I am interested in this as well. Thanks for asking. Sorry I can't help!

I vacationed there this past summer, and there are pay parking areas on either side of the main pier. Be careful if you park in other nearby lots, though....some are marked for use by people taking boat tours or for restaurants use only, and apparently they are enforced.

Luckily, the Clearwater Beach area is only 3-4 blocks wide, so even if you find meter parking on a side street, it isn't a far walk to the beach. There is a trolley line that goes up and down the "main drag" that you can catch if you park farther away.

We made a day trip to Clearwater last summer to take my daughter to see the ocean for the first time. We are going to be doing the same this year. I did alot of research and we found the perfect place to spend the day ! lots of shells, beautiful sand and not very crowded. Its called Honeymoon Island State Park. There is an $8 per vehicle fee to access the park. They have clean bathrooms, picnic pavilion and even showers to rinse the sand off. It was just what we were looking for. Plug the address in your gps - we would have never found it otherwise - its tucked away. https://www.floridastateparks.org/park/Honeymoon-Island

I second Honeymoon Island we spent a lovely day there. You can rent parasols and chairs too :goodvibes

Thank you for the replies! I will definitely check out Honeymoon Island. Thank you for the heads up amp bout the parking at Clearwater. That answers my parking questions.

Yes to Honeymoon Island. Clearwater is very busy, party type of beach. I prefer Anna Maria Island and Siesta Key as they are much more low key.

I live 15 min from CLWB and this is our preferred spot as a local. It's just south of CLWB and is a county park facility. Clean and easy. Sand Key Park.

Sand key has beach rentals, clean bathrooms and bbq pavilions in the park. Kind of near CLWB but tucked away.
Honeymoon island is also a park but the beach is VERY rocky.

YES! Honeymoon Island is extremely rocky and very painful for bare feet. I would try to get to Clearwater early as the main lot doesn't usually fill before noon. I love it, even if it's crowded. It's just a very fun beach.

Can you take your small dog onto the beach at that park? I see there is a dog park there, but was wondering about any area beach where you can bring your dog.

Honeymoon Island didnt seem rocky to us. There were some rocks but it was down by the jetty where people were fishing.
We took our sandals off in the parking lot and walked on the warm sand a good bit down the beach. Maybe we just lucked out and didnt end up at the rocky section. I cant wait to go back in a few weeks. Praying for beautiful weather.
sidenote: while we were swimming (not too far out) at Honeymoon island last summer we came within 10 feet or so of a manatee. Soooo amazing...but my daughter walked on water to get out of there..LOL
beautiful beach!

You can't take your dog to THIS beach but there is a cause way beach across the street and another headed back (Belleair Beach causeway) that allow dogs. This park does have a dog park though so you can bring your dog to the park, just not on the beach.
