until the cruise that is.... Because I am completely distracted with planning this vacation. :)

I still have 242 days left and I already set up a box to throw things in to pack. I bought sunscreen on sale yesterday and threw it in the box. My husband thinks I am crazy.

Lol .... I am 112 days away and my hubby thinks I am nuts . I have been making magnets and FEs all summer.

Trust me -- it's a "good affliction" to have -- too much pre-planning! I don't leave until September 2017 and have already started throwing port information and research into a box, along with folders and passport covers, etc. If I don't have a trip to plan for on the horizon, I just can't survive. :jumping1: I mean I'm only working to travel -- who needs extra money :thumbsup2

I love you all. You're my people. Most of my life is spent planning the next vacation. It occurred to me the other day that I might like planning vacation better than actually vacationing. No. Wait. That's just silly.

December cruise this year. Fish extender gifts nearly done. Spreadsheet created (14 worksheets), car and hotels booked (with the option to change if something cheaper/better comes up), working on surprise cruise outfits for my granddaughters, checking Disboards more frequently than Facebook.

Please, I have two weeks to go. I swear I am crazy. It's like an addiction at this point. Constantly making lists, checking this board, trip advisor, seeing if anyone canceled palo brunch so I can get in, LOL. It's ridiculous. The only thing that makes me feel a little normal is the rest of you are doing it too! HA HA at least we have company :)

I've always got at least one trip in the planning stages, and it's usually 2 or 3. It's what helps keep me sane at work. I'm just glad I've got lots of company here on the boards with the same affliction.

I have been planning my trip for over a year! Luckily I only have 3 months to go! My only fear is...what am I going to obsess about once my cruise is over???

Actually, that's not completely unlikely. When I plan a trip, I get so involved with every detail and timing and reservations and charts, that when the trip is over I go into a kind of post-vacation depression. I liken it to a bride planning a wedding for a year and when it's over it's like -- now what! Only once in the past decade did we return from a vacation without a future vacation booked or at least planned to be booked and I felt lost without something to work on next :scared: It's a real sickness -- but I don't want a cure! :rotfl2:

We haven't even taken this year's cruise and I'm already thinking of road trip vacations for 2018!

Check the expiration date! I've used expired sunscreen and it didn't end well for my skin.

Not sure about the year part, though in essence I totally agree with Heather. I bought Coppertone the other day and the expiration is early 2018. So a bit more than a year. Since those dates tend to wear off I got some masking tape and wrote the exp date in sharpie on it, so I don't forget.

Since the sunscreen was on sale, just make sure it's not older sunscreen already.

I normally plan like crazy for a couple months, then take a breather, then plan like crazy for the month before. Every time I put if off, something comes up and I am rushing.

Checked the sunscreen date, we are all good :-)

LOL we don't set sail until next August, and I'm already scouring these posts for secrets and tips so I don't feel overwhelmed. I'm already trying to figure out flights/hotel/rental cars, even though I can't see pricing on flights for another 5 months or so! I'm not sure who's more excited for this cruise - me, or my son! :yay:

I have been spending a lot of my down time at work doing research too!

Alaska is a big one - totally worth obsessing over :) Enjoy!

It's our second trip, so I know enough to be dangerous this time. :smooth:

Currently, I'm watching lots of marinetraffic.com and learning the itinerary and route by heart. First time, I was happy going along for the ride. This time, I want to be able to pilot the ship if they need me to.

(LOL. Ok, not really. But I want to be thoroughly familiar with where we're going at all times.)

I figure some of the stuff that I want to pick up will be on sale and easier to find now than in Ohio in March :) I had a hard time last time we went to Disney finding swim suits and stuff in December.

Stuff to buy now - flip flops for the deck (none of us has any), insulated cups are on sale now at Target, over door hanging organizers are on sale with "back to school college" stuff now, and beach towel clips. I'm sure some of this stuff will stay in the vacation box from now on.
