clearance pins at disney store

I just bought some nice pins for 2.99 on clearance so my 11 year old can

trade them. I bought about 15. It makes the lanyards very heavey. They are

almost all the same. About 7 of them light up. I have never done pin trading

before, only plan to do this at the parks for our vacation in 2 days. Also

noticed some keep falling off. I don't want to loose them. Will probably only

use 5 at a time to take to the parks. Any suggestions? Don't know what I am

doing.

Make sure you push them in on a hard surface. I had that problem at the parks. When I got back to our room I placed the button mickey back down and pushed really hard. They stayed on the lanyard from then on. Good luck with trading. My husband is big on it now. he can't wait for our 2010 trip to get more donald duck.

Great price, but I'm not sure the light-ups are strictly tradeable (according to the WDW guidelines. Does anybody else know for sure?

Not sure. We have some light-up pins but we were saving them for last. We ended up not trading through all of our "normal" pins so we never tried the light-up ones. I did see a CM turn down a light-up pin from another guest (this was last month) but I wasn't able to hear the explanation of why the CM wouldn't accept it.
