The top of our pool liner on one side of our pool liner has some black stuff that will not come off. We are not sure what it is. We have tried this red pool-liner cleaner from our local pool store and the Mr. Clean easer. Any other suggestions, that we could try that would not ruin our liner!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have at times had a black residue on one side of my liner. I think it is from oil, suntan lotion, etc. Honestly, what worked for me is a lot of elbow grease & my fingernails to scrape it off.

It's never been around the whole pool, just one side & always at the water level.

Wonder if a "Magic Eraser" would work? I use them on everything. Might be worth a shot.

Good luck!!

Vim and a brush is what DH uses. And try the 'Tom Sawyer' approach with the kids. "I'm having so much fun! Want to give it a go?" ;)

That is what we have almost looks like mildew on just one side in the deep end. We have tried elbow grease and it did not come off and we even tried the Magic Earser too!!!!!!!

I used to put soft scrub on my parents white part of the pool (the part that held the liner in place as well as made an edge around the pool) back in the 80's.

I would scrub it off but there were times I applied it, rubbed it in to soak in & forgot about it, hey I was a teenager & came back to rinse it off & it was white.

I think I have even used it on the liner itself.

but it has to be above the water line. Once the sponge gets in the pool water it doesn't work as well. Maybe try the scrubber magic eraser. Good Luck.

I've never had that problem myself, but on one of my pool bulletin boards they recommend rubbing the spot with a chlorine puck/tablet (WEAR GLOVES).

Thanks,, we will try the Chlorine tab!!!!!!!!!
