Hi, lets say your having a ladies party the next night, and a million things to get done, how do you do it? DD19 is having a Epicure(spice) party and mom's(ME) is cleaning the house. I just feel everytime that it gets toooo overwelming. -room to room
-make a to do list
-what ever pops into my mind.
:confused3 Ok what am I doing here?:confused3

How to all my Dis Friends do it.???

Well I've just had to become super effiecient at this as we're selling and need the house to be immaculate at all time for last minute viewings. The way I cleared it was to work in small steps. My favourite technique for the living room is to clear everything onto one sofa so the rest of the room is totally clear, then work through the sofa putting each object away as you come to it. Make a seperate pile for things that go upstairs (but make sure they go upstairs as soon as you're finished or they'll sit and stare at you for days!)

Check out flylady.com. She has a thing there called crisis cleaning, and it works.

Make a list of the room/s that will be viewed first, carry your list with you and if you see something that needs to be done jot it down before you forget. I would first take a quick pass through the rooms to see what gets your attention first.

I tidy up first then go back and deep clean. And DD needs to help since it's her party.

Hi again. Ok Dd had her party last night, had a great time, and now we must have at least a dozzen little containers filled with left over delicious dips in our fridge. The house got cleaned, but was down to the last minute but now the spare room, clossets and drawers are packed full of JUNK. I am taking a couple of says off to rest, then the Good Will store is going to like us. I AM DOING EARLY SPRING CLEANING.:worship:

If a good will store is what we call a charity shop then ours loves us right now! We've completely filled the car at least 3 times this month. They've had clothes, cds, videos, book, toys - everthing you can imagine.

yes Queenie it is a charity shop, we have Goodwill and Salvation Army. I send a lot of the kids gently used clothes there when they out grow them. And it's all tax deductible as a donation which is nice!
I think the only thing they won't take is car seats because they can't guarantee they aren't damaged do to a car accident or something.

Oh we don't get tax deductions or anything, you just take boxes down and leave them with the little old dears who volunteer there. I think they take most things except electronics as they can't afford the tests they'd legally need to have done before they could sell them. We have dozens near us for all the charities you can imagine, the local hospice, cnacer research the lot. Provide a great option for clearing out your house though and I've had some great storage stuff for my stash out of them.
