We have custom wood cabinets (not sure which type of wood). What is the best way to clean the outsides? I would call the cabinet place, but they areno longer in business.
I just cleaned my cabinets this afternoon. I use what my mom uses-Murphys Oil Soap Concentrated Wood Cleaner. You dilute it in warm water and wipe down wood cabinets. You can also use it to clean your wood floors. Very simple to do and it gets the dust and drips off easily.

My cabinets are 25 years old. I have used Murphy's, and also Liquid Gold with success. They were really looking pretty grungy so I tried Rejuvinate for cabinets and they look fantastic. Like new. Won't use anything else now. Found it in the supermarket.
We have custom cabinets. The kitchen designer (also the co-owner of the shop) told me to use a small amount of liquid dish detergent in tepid water. Wipe down the cabinets, and then dry immediately with a soft cloth.
She specifically said not to use Murphy's as it leaves a residue that will build up over time.
Same as pp...For weekly cleaning I use Dawn or Palmolive (cuts grease)...just a few drops in a sink full of hot water. Ring the cloth out very well & make sure to dry afterwards with a soft cloth. Every 6 months or so I use Liquid Gold.
