I have a new dishwasher that has lines from where the water runs down after it is loaded. Nothing I try can get the spots, drips, and run lines clean. Even the stainless cleaner is not cutting it. There must be a budget way to keep it looking nice. Any suggestions?

Thanks for any help.

Vinegar I just pour some in once in awhile an run regular cycle with dishes also I put vinegar in the place where the rinse stuff goes as needed ( sorry been up over 24 hrs can't think of what it's called)

You could try to gently use a wet Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, with the grain. Very gently or you'll scratch.

I use lemon oil, but there are also stainless steel cleaners at the grocery store, Home Depot and Lowes. I cannot say if they are good or not, however. The lemon oil does a nice job.

I've used Bar Keeper's Friend on my stainless sink, it doesn't scratch...also, make sure you dry it when you are done to make it shine even more.

Try the new Pledge all surface cleaner in the blue spray bottle. I use it on my stainless steel dishwasher and fridge - does a really good job.

I have the same problem. I use a solution of white vinegar and water (distilled if you have it) in a spray bottle. I don't measure it but it's about 25-30% vinegar. This works well. I use the same solution on my granite counters to keep them looking like new.:goodvibes
Just spray it on and wipe til dry. Can't getting any cheaper either!;)

Oh I should have read first! This is exactly what we do, probably more vinegar than water though in ours.

Just an observation-vinegar maybe awesome for cleaning stainless steel-but over time will be bad bad bad for granite countertops-its an acid and will etch them.

another vote for bar keepers friend. u can use a very small amount, so the bottle lasts a long time. i also use it to clean marks on my silverware, which sometimes occurs from the dishwasher. it's also a great cleaner for pots, stainless sink, and it does a great job in our fiberglass shower!

i generally use vinegar and water to clean windows and mirrors. i agree with the previous poster about the granite---vinegar would cause problems to the finish of granite over time...for granite, i recommend ivory soap and water daily, and a granite cleaner once a week or so to get it to shine.

Great thread! Just looking for some new cleaners. Anyone have a suggestion for cleaning the stainless sinks??

Baking Soda and water. This cleans my sink better than any other stainless steel cleaner I've ever purchased. I just sprinkle it on and let it sit for a minute and then us a soft washcloth to scrub it clean. It only takes a few minutes.

I bought a silver colored microfiber cloth that was labeled as "for stainless steel" I just wet it, wring it out and wipe the stainless steel fridge with it, and the fridge looks great...no streaks or drips. Until I found this, I was constantly swearing at my fridge.

Bar Keeper's Friend works on all stainless steel. I use it to clean my sink as well as other stainless items.
