I drink a lot of coffee and the inside of my white mug seems to turn brown. Just rinsing in the sink at the drink stations doesn't really clean the mug. I used to have presoaped Palmolive wipes but I don't think they are available any longer. So I was just wondering how you clean your mugs.

pack a small amount in a tripple bagged ziplock? Put a few drops on a suare of papertowel and re wet it when you get there?

Efferdent denture tabs work great.

Someone mentioned before that they take a paper towel, put soap on it, and then let it set out a couple days to dry. Then just stick them in a bag with no worries about leakage. Wetting the towel will activate the soap.

I have take the inexpensive regular sponges and cut them into thirds. I wet them, put an okay sized squirt of dish liquid on them and leave them out to dry. Pack in a ziplock. Rewet to activate the soap and viola! I take usually 6. Sometimes I'll use one a couple of times then toss, or if it's really iggy, I'll toss after 1 use. This worked well for me.

I just brought our "dish wand"...its a wand that you can put liquid dish soap in with a sponge attached. I too double bagged it, (it didn't leak, but you never know). This worked out better for me than using some of the other suggestions (even though they're all brilliant :thumbsup2), because in addition to the resort mugs I also had sippy cups to clean out every night for two kids. Plus the liquid dish soap got out a few grease stains on some shirts while we were there (talk about a product multi-tasking)! ;)

The staining doesn't bother me much. I just clean it when I get home.

Easy way to do it without having to take anything with you. Salt and ice. If lemon or vinegar is available add a couple of drops of that too. Swish it all around. Stains gone. Everything available at the food court!

I just rinse them with hot water from the coffee station....then when I get back to our room I use soap and hot water

:)I always pack dish soap. I either get the trial size in the travel section at the store, or the smallest/cheapest container in the dish soap isle. I just use one of the wash cloths to wash them. This will be my first year with out sippy cups!

I LOVED those things!

I bring dish soap with me. I used a travel size shampoo bottle (Aquatics from AKL), washed it out & filled it with dish soap. I marked the outside with a sharpie to identify it. I also fold up paper towels to bring with me. It takes up a tiny amount of space & it can all fit in my carry on bag.

I wash the entire coffee pot in my room before using it, as well as the refillable mug & mugs they leave for us in the room. This way, I know it is clean.

USE OXYCLEAN ON A CLOTH, AS IT SEEMS TO WORK WELL.

(Sorry about shouting, but that is the only way I hear about it on TV. :rotfl:)

Unless you are bringing an old mug, which I doubt would be cool... They want you to buy one each trip.

I think you'll be o.k with a bit of dish soap in a small travel bottle.

Just don't make the mistake I did once and wash out anything you are going to drink out of with the bar soap. I have never gotten the smell and taste out of it.

Love this idea! I was also trying to figure out a convenient and inexpensive way to clean the mugs.
