With all the talk of MOLD being in the rooms at Disney, are there any resorts that you consider to be EXTREMELY CLEAN?

I am a clean freak. I notice these kinds of things:rolleyes: . I felt the Boardwalk Inn was spotless. Everywhere you looked and especially our room and bathroom. Great housekeeping staff there. Not extra fancy like we have had other places, no towel animals or stuffed animal arrangements, but give me cleanliness over that stuff anytime.

Stayed at:

WL Woods View
AKL Savannah Deluxe
BWV 1BR
BCV 2BR
CR North Garden Wing
OKW 2BR
OKW 1BR
OKW Studio

Have thankfully not had any dirty rooms - all have been very clean or even spotless

The bathroom in the CR North Garden Wing needed renovations fast but it was clean

thanks

Never had a dirty room:

BWV - studio
VWL - one bedroom
GF
POFQ

On the Value side, we stayed at All Star Sports last July and the room was spotless when we arrived and was cleaned spotlessly every day we were there. With two little kids playing around all over the floor, etc. I'm pretty picky about hotel cleanliness, and I was very pleased with our room at AS Sports.

Ickiest room in which I have stayed has to be a one bedroom villa at BWV. The coffee pot had a coffee filter growing a fungus. The shower had mold and mildew to the point that we we showered without touching the walls- at all. The extra long balcony was so rotten that I insisted that no one lean up against it, for fear of falling. The kitchen sink leaked, and it took almost an act of Congress to get it fixed. Etc., etc....

Even the BC, which I loved, had mildew in the shower.

AKL, POFQ, and PC were probably the cleanest overall rooms.

We've stayed at:
All-Star Music
Beach Club
Contemporary
Grand Floridian
Polynesian
Villas at Wilderness Lodge
Wilderness Lodge

The cleanist and best condition was at ASMu.

You can see in my signature how many resorts I've stayed at, so I won't bother listing them here. I can honestly say I've never once had a room that I didn't consider spotless. Maybe I'm just so happy to be in WDW that I don't pay that close attention. As far as the cleanest room on property, well, we stayed at the BCV beginning July 3rd, 2002, and I guess one would have to say that was the cleanest, since it had just opened on July 1st, so that isn't a fair comparison.:D

I stayed in the GF and it was very dirty, to the point that I had to go to the front desk and request another room. Unwrapped food laying around, crumbs everywhere, even clothes left behind. It was very clear that the room was never cleaned or the maid service was terrible. Went to the front desk and they didn't seem to be shocked at all, but did give me another room. Well, the next room didn't have all that mess, but it still wasn't very clean. I even left certain things around the room (that should be picked up and thrown away) to see if the maid would take care of it. I was there 8 days and it wasn't until the day before I checked out that the stuff was touched. I was very disappointed in the service at this hotel. Just goes to show you that higher priced hotels are not always better.

FYI about the mold in the bathrooms. We stayed at the YC in Aug. '03. There was a big streak of mold on the bathroom ceiling. We asked for it to be cleaned and it was. In less than 2 days, it was growing back very quickly. With the way the bathrooms are designed, I think it is a loosing battle.

Right now the cleanest has to be Pop Century (until Saratoga Springs opens). It's new, the rooms have barely been used which must be easier to clean and the staff at Pop seems truly top notch including mousekeeping.

Every room we've ever stayed in at WDW has been very clean. We've stayed at:

The Dolphin
Wilderness Lodge
Coronado Springs

Our room at Wilderness Lodge needed some renovation in the bathroom - the wallpaper was peeling in some places. But everything was very clean. We were lucky enough to be the first ones to stay in a newly renovated room at CSR, and the mousekeepers made sure we came back to a clean room each day. We also had great housekeeping (and a beautiful room!) at the Dolphin.

I must agree that the GF has a long way to go in improving the cleanliness of its rooms. That's part of the reason why we switched to the BWI. Our room was spotless! The balcony was cleaned every day, the bathroom was shining, and you could have eaten off the floor. The housekeeper even greeted us by name a few times as we passed on the concierge floor (how she knew our name, I have no idea...). We were very happy with the cleanliness of not only our room, but the entire resort area.

Overall all rooms I have stayed in have been very clean to start and cleaned very well each day by Housekeeping. I have had on occasion when I first checked had to call housekeeping for a problem. The worse was at the Boardwalk. I pulled back the bedspread and blanket and noticed hairs all over the sheet. Housekeeping was there shortly after my call and changed all bed linens including blankets and bedspreads. They changed both beds.

I think you are gonna find instances like this all the time. Not so much a fault of the resort but a fault of one person just not fully doing their job. Yes it bugs me to walk in and have a problem but if its corrected promptly then im ok. I get irritated if I have to wait a long time for it to be corrected.

Take Care
Jamie

P.S. Mildew stains in the shower or on the shower curtain liner is one of my big pet peeves. I once called housekeeping and had them change the liner.
