I had been reading on another thread about someone after checking in finding their room to not be cleaned . Have you ever had this happen? The person even mentioned finding garbage on the bathroom sink. My DH said he would have demanded another room especially since it was a deluxe resort and they cost a lot. Just wondered if anyone else has experienced this.Thanks.

Yes, this happen to us in August 2002 when we stayed at the Grand Floridian. We went to the room, walked in and started to look around. There was opened food laying around as well as clothing that was left behind. I was angry as you could imagine. So we walked back to the lobby and I told the CM, which didn't seem to be shocked, or even really care. I told him I wanted another room. So back we go to the same building, 2 floors lower and this room was cleanier but still not clean enough for me, especially what you pay per night to stay there, which that shouldn't matter, it should be clean no matter what the price is. In fact, the whole resort wasn't that clean the whole time we were there, and we stayed a week. I was very disappointed with this resort and most likely wouldn't stay there again.

We have never had a problem with garbage laying around our room but we do come prepared with Lysol wipes and wipe down the bathroom, sinks, and doorknobs when we check in. Just think, if some of them are so bold as to not clean up the obvious, imagine what we can't see!! Better yet, don't!

I am ready with the Lysol wipes. I got some on clearance at Target. Packs of 9 for 50 cents.

I will be also being taking a can of Lysol with us. Actually I am shipping it down with some other stuff.

If my room is not clean then I will be asking very nicely for a new ROOM! ASAP!

Not at Disney World, but on our way home from Disney World, it happened to us two weeks ago. And since this was a beach town, it was the last room they had. We were inconvenienced by having to wait for it to be cleaned (wanted to change for dinner, had to change the kids in the hotel lobby bathroom). It was a $100 room, and they didn't offer a discount, etc., for our trouble!

This also happened to us at the GF. One thing they do have a problem with is, dusting!! They dust once and then leave it alone till your gone! I can't believe they don't dust!

Like it was mentioned before any room should be cleaned regardless of the price but considering what you pay at the GF the room should be spotless. :earsgirl:

Not only not cleaned but my room at BWV was still occupied at 3:50 pm when we checked in!!! The manager actually went up to see what the deal was...I don't think he believed us. But when he knocked on the door, the woman that answered it was quite taken aback. Seems that the family had decided to stay another night...this was Thanksgiving Day!!! The thing that I can't figure out is why that room showed up as cleaned and empty?? Obviously housekeeping missed the boat on that one!!! I think they got tired of going back to that room only to find it still occupied and just gave up and checked it off as 'done'.

Our only room that wasn't completely up to my standard was at the Polynesian in '03. The bathroom was tidy but not very clean!! There was hair all around the toilet area and I'm not talking long hair from a lady's head here. The vanity was all smudgy. We called housekeeping and asked for the bathroom area to be recleaned while we were at the park. It was better when we got back but it sure wasn't perfect!!
