Clean room near Universal for 1 night

I posted this on the Orlando Hotels Board, and then cut and pasted it over here as well.


Hi! We're checking into the RPR on Sunday, but we need a good motel for Saturday night. I don't want to book something expensive, because I'm not sure how late we will get to Orlando with the fire situation on I-10 and 75.

DH has enough points to stay at any of the following for free. Which would you recommend?

Clarion Hotel Universal
7299 Universal Boulevard

Quality Inn and Suites
5635 Windhover Drive

Sleep Inn and Suites Universal Area
5605 Major Blvd.

Comfort Inn International
8134 International Drive

Comfort Suites Universal South
9350 Turkey Lake Rd.


There are a couple more options, but hopefully one of the above will be good. Really, as long as it's very clean and safe, then I'll be happy.

We ended up staying at the:

Comfort Suites Universal South
9350 Turkey Lake Rd.


We were all very, very pleasantly surprised. The room was large and very clean. It had a big bathroom, a sofabed/sitting area, a microwave and a fridge. There was a very nice lagoon style pool, a kiddie pool, a hot tub, and a pool bar. We had a third floor room overlooking the pool, and we could see the Peabody in the distance. My kids wanted to stay there again (it's the ducks), but we stayed at the Comfort Suites for free. They also had a great continental breakfast. It only took us about 5 minutes to get to the RPR Sunday morning.
I would definitely stay here again.

You don't have this listed but I have been very happy with the Comfort Suites on Major Blvd. Nice rooms/breakfast/and very convientent to Universal. I have not stayed in the Sleep Inn-but it looked O.K.

My vote would be the Comfort Suites on Turkey Lake. It is cheap and clean and also has shuttles to the park.
