Clean cheap room near Old Town

there is a motel 6 across the street - however you know how bad US 192 is for traffic.

the motel 6 is off the main US 192 highway.

I have stayed there a few times. Its right behind mcdonalds. Its very inexpensive. Its a basic room 2 double beds, but it was clean.

I too will be at the NCRS corvette show Jan 26-29. The nice Comfort Suites is SOLD out.....there is a big difference between the Days Inn Suites (old) and the Days Inn Hotel (newer and cleaner) as they are right next to each other.

Actually, the Old Town area has one of the very best resort deals in Kissimmee. Check out Tropical Palms. TripAdvisor has lots of reviews and a great collection of pictures from those that have stayed there. The overwhelming consensus is that this is a great place.

For those that don't know, Tropical Palms has a collection of cabins in wonderfully landscaped setting. It's just behind Old Town - a quick 5 minute walk away.

That Days Inn "newer and cleaner???. I stayed in that Days Inn on my first trip to Disney 30 years ago. I remember it well. It was the first time we saw a palm roach (in the bathtub) and we watched the ants crawling in under our door. The next year we stayed at the Days Lodge (now Days Suites). And it was much better than the Days Inn rooms at that time. Of course now neither one is anything to brag about, just a basic room - maybe clean, maybe not.

Booked a one night stay at Tropical Palms March 23 2006. 89.00 a night. Website quoted a price of 114.00 but when I selected a cottage the price was reduced. I hope this is a nice place for the money. My dh and 2 sons are going and I booked Holiday Inn International drive for 72.00 (through priceline) and am pretty nervous about their reaction to this property. I hope that it is nicer than some of the reviews I have read.
