Clay Aiken scandal?

Two of the New York papers (the Post and the Daily News) are reporting a scandal is brewing involving Clay Aiken. Supposedly a man that he met online and had sex with in a hotel is telling his story. Denials from Aiken, but I can't honestly say it would surprise me. These papers are available online through the Drudge report. It is on the Page Six page of the "post".

Here’s my thoughts…Clay Aiken is a celebrity with lots of money. There are people in this world who are inclined to make things up in order to try to get out of court settlements from wealthy people. Just because someone makes an accusation does not make it true. Of course, I don’t know Clay personally, so I can’t speak to his sexual preference.

I don't see the "scandal" here. So he may be gay, (which he denies) so what? I don't care who he loves/sleeps with. He's a talented man and it won't change my perception of him or my enjoyment of his music one iota. Really a non issue here and actually no one's business but his own.

This is my opinion as well. I do not care about his sexual orientation and it is not my business to care.

I just noticed that no one had posted this today, and I thought it was bizarre because usually every news item comes up one way or another...so I thought I'd post it, knowing there are a lot of Clay fans here. I voted for him myself, although I don't care for his style of music. I do think though, that if he is gay he should just come out and quit being coy about it.

I'm not a New Yorker, but aren't the Post and the Daily News tabloids? And we all know how trashy the tabs are. Until this comes from a more reliable source I put little stock into this story.

Anway, I couldn't care less about his sexuality. He still can't sing!

I don't believe it. I don't give a hoot about his orientation and respect his right to privacy in that regard. However, he seems like a bright kid and I doubt he'd be taking that kind of risk with his celebrity. I think it's someone out for their moment of fame.
