Here’s my thoughts…Clay Aiken is a celebrity with lots of money. There are people in this world who are inclined to make things up in order to try to get out of court settlements from wealthy people. Just because someone makes an accusation does not make it true. Of course, I don’t know Clay personally, so I can’t speak to his sexual preference.

Sexual Orientation, it's a big difference.

I'm a fan of his. Who really cares what he does behind the confinds of his own doors. As long as "it" is consentual and with someone over 18. He has a LOT of fans. I really don't think it is going to matter one way or another to most of them.

Shocking, simply shocking. I NEVER would have suspected he was gay.. :rotfl2:
Seriously though, does it really matter?

I don't believe it. I don't give a hoot about his orientation and respect his right to privacy in that regard. However, he seems like a bright kid and I doubt he'd be taking that kind of risk with his celebrity. I think it's someone out for their moment of fame.

Apparently this guy passed a lie detector test.

I just think it's sad that he thinks he has to deny it... he could really be a great role model for so many.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who found that song a little creepy.

Add me to this list. This song creeps me out too.

I just have to say that I read this wrong the first time. Instead of "kick" I thought I saw "lick." Sure changes the meaning, but maybe it's still pertinent! :rotfl2:

Yes I'm a Clay fan...no I'm not going to go ballistic on anyone here...lol

Clay's got insanely loyal fans out there...I'm sure that there are a few of them who might fade away IF he came out and said that he's gay..but the majority of them don't care.

My personal belief of this story...I've heard that the person making these accusations is a realtor in the Raleigh area. Don't know if it's true or not...just saying what I've heard. Clay has made the decision to sell his home in LA and move back to Raleigh. That's been common knowledge for awhile now...I think that this "man" could be a scorned realtor ticked off because he lost a potential mega-commission or something. Or just another somebody trying to make a fast buck. Claims he's passed a lie detector test...who administered it? Where's the proof? Show me PROOF of the evidence and that it's for real...and I'll happily admit that I was wrong. But until then...I don't believe it.

I could personally care less if Clay's gay...I love his voice...I love to listen to him sing. His sexual orientation does nothing to change my enjoyment of his music. And yes...I even like "Invisible"...there's more to the song than just the chorus...

Ok...off my Clay soap box now...lol

Saddens me that Clay doesn't feel he can come out. Also saddens me that he was clearly betrayed by this person, although it sounds like he originally got involved with him via answering a personal ad? (Not a great idea).

Clay previously had a thing with Reichen, half of the gay couple on the Amazing Race. That was fairly freely reported at the time.

But why does he have to come out? It is no ones business but his.

He certainly doesn't have to, but to be true to his feelings, come out and declare "who he really is" - because sexuality is a key part of who we all really are - would strengthen some the tens of thousands of young men who live with the same secret.

And he should "come out" regardless of his sexuality based on reports in two of the biggest tabloids in N.Y.??? Please.. :rolleyes2

Whatever. I'm not a big Clay Aiken fan AND even if I were... it's none of my business. However, IF he is, I don't think he's obligated to "come out". He may have very good reasons for keeping his personal business, personal.

Just because he is in the public eye, doesn't mean he must be a poster child for being "out and proud". I guess I don't understand why these various publications are so determined to "out" the guy.

OK, Warning this is OFF TOPIC!
But, why do you feel the need to chastize someone for making a clarification.
I found this quite rude of you and unnecessary.

I was thinking the same thing!

Why is it assumed that he is gay? Most posters here have said they aren't surprised as if this is 100% fact. For being so open-minded there sure seems to be quite a bit of stereotyping going on. So because he is thin, enjoys singing, has a "pretty" face, was a teacher of young kids....etc. what exactly makes it so "obvious" to most posters here?

I agree, m&m's mom!

I wonder why that poster didn't use the "off topic smilie" when people were making fun of the lyrics of his song? Which by the way made me LOL.

I don't know why I am going to comment but I feel I must. I have met Clay at a meet n' greet after a concert and he was very cordial and hospitable.

However, I think Clay has issues just like everyone else. He had a horrible father, planned on working with disabled children before he became "famous", professes to have a strong faith and he is very talented, no one can deny that. But all that stuff doesn't mean he is comfortable in his skin. If he is gay, he isn't obligated to come "out" in my opinion if he isn't comfortable with it, not everyone is in my experience in life and its hard for many people to come to the realization that they aren't conforming to what is expected of them in life.

I actually feel bad for Clay if he is at the point in his life, for whatever reason, that he can't be honest. He may not be comfortable with what he is, gay or straight. Also, I think he is financially taking care of his family now and perhaps he is afraid the $$$ will go away if something like this was to become public knowledge. He may be worried about feeding people, who knows!

I hope I said what I was trying to say right, I hope I didn't offend anyone, I apologize in advance if I did.

I just don't understand why this always seems to be a huge issue for entertainers. I hear it all the time about Barry Manilow, and I have the same answer.

Is he kicking puppies? Murdering small children while they sleep?

What? He's gay? Is that all? Hookairs - where's my CD? :)
