Here's the gist of it:
"As consumers, we feel ripped off. It is obvious now that the private Clay is very different from the manufactured packaged public Clay that was marketed to us."
This is where "fans" are screwed up. These artists are, in fact, "manufactured" and "packaged" and "marketed." They are a product that is sold and we buy it or we don't. We only need to be concerned with the product which, in the case of a musician, is the music and the on-stage/screen CHARACTER that they are selling. That is separate from the private people that they are.
