Classroom treats w/no chocolate, no nuts?

I feel your pain... well that is a little much --- I understand your deliema --

DD's kindergarten class has 2 peanut allergies, 2 soy allergies (soybean oil), 1 milk allergy, 1 chocolate allergy and 2 children that can't have anything sticky due to dental problems (no fruit snacks-gummies etc).

So I am subscribing to get new snack/treat ideas!!

Italian ice or Philly Swirls (like popsicles in a cup) are ok for all those allergies, and the kids seem to like them.

You might want to check with the teacher about the school's allergy policy before you go to too much trouble. In our school, if a child has an allergy (at least in kindergarten), they aren't allowed to eat any food brought in by anyone else, even if it's store bought. They have to provide their own snack every day.

preschool teacher here and we LOVe when the kids bring in Jello cups and whipped cream. :thumbsup2

DD6's school policy doesn't allow ANY food for birthdays. We can send in pencils, stickers, etc. For their own afternoon snacks they can't bring in any bread product (no crackers, cookies, bread, cupcakes...nothing.) It has to be fruit, veggies, jello, yogurt, etc.

That said, we do bring snacks for Sunday School, and have to be careful for the one kid with an egg allergy. This morning we had jello with whipped cream.

My daughter loves it when I layer different colors of Jello in the small clear party cups and put in gummi bears. You could do a gummi fish aquarium version.

how about gogurt or mini sized McD's type fruit and yogurt parfaits? That's what we are doing for Ds bday in May. We've also done jello and pudding cups. Is your child older (sorry didn't notice?) We've also done pizza for the class. We have a place here where they are $5 for one topping pizza so I just arrange with the teacher ahead of time to let the kids know not to bring in lunch that day and then I buy a few pizzas (depending on age of kids, my dd was in gr 6 last year and we did 5 pizzas and probably could have used more-my gosh can those preteens pack it away. ) If the kids are younger maybe one pizza cut in smaller pieces then I would take in a few 2 liters of Light Hawaiin Punch or diet Sierra Mist. I like the fruit and cheese on straws idea too...How about instead of worms and dirt (because of the chocolate allergies) do maybe snakes on the beach, just use vanilla pudding and graham cracker crumbs in place of the choc pudd and cookie crumbs.

Lots of good ideas have been given. One thing that I do in addition to a treat, that the teachers really like, is I also bring in paper plates and napkins. To assure a fairly mess free treat time. :)

Well, some others beat me to it.
I was going to say Kripsy Kreme donuts. When we were in CA. that is what we brought in and the kids and teachers loved them.

Another option might be apples with single serving carmel dips. Kids like that too.

Oh my gosh - Dis people are so clever - I had to get out a pen and paper to write down all the clever ideas for snacks!!
