Classroom friendly music

Depends on the age, but my kids (who are younger) love anything by Billy Jonas and Bill Harley. Most anyone who plays on Kids Place Live on XM/ Sirrius.

I play music from Glee. Sometimes I play some dance music from various decades. When they've been sitting too long, sometimes we just have to boogie! When I taught humanities, we'd often listen to music from whatever place we were studying. Turns out, the British Invasion station on Pandora was a HUGE hit with 7th graders!!

Please let me give you some advice. Recordings are made by educational companies - get one of these.

Reason: One parent did not like a teacher's choice of music, used for the same purpose you are thinking of. Parent was really out to get said teacher. Union had to get involved, etc. The teacher was told by the school lawyer that SHE SHOULD HAVE PURCHASED THE CD FROM AN EDUCATIONAL COMPANY. This way, the parent could have issue with the educational company, not the teacher. Please be careful.

A word to the wise.......:goodvibes

This makes no sense to me because even if the educational company put the CD together the teacher still had to choose to purchase it. By this logic, if I use some of my Scholastic points to get a book a parent complains about they can put the blame on Scholastic for carrying the book.

If I'm going down for a music choice it had better be for music I love & not a boring CD whitewashed by an education company.
