I just came across my best friend from 9th grade and she has a current photo listed but you have to be a gold member to see it. I'm curious but I'm not sure I'm $15.00 worth of curious. Is anyone actually a 'gold member'?

not worth is, shes probably ugly anyway

Jason! There are quite a few people I would love to get in touch with but won't pay the money.

I did find one old friend through MySpace though.

Someone just found me through Classmates.com. He musta paid the $$$ to join - it was a guy I had dated for a few months and he seemed rather psycho. My horse knew best - took a hunk out of his leg once :) Let sleeping dogs lie, IMHO. He is still really creepy!

Awww man, Pop Daddy, you're gonna make me pee my pants!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I paid the 15 bucks last month to get in touch with two friends and a former boss (the one that DH and I worked for-back when I was dating ex husband). It was cool to reconnect with them!

It was worth it to me to get in touch with just the one friend-she'd moved several times in five years and I lost touch. I can't believe her kids are in college now!

I used to be a gold member. I contacted a few people (that I liked). I let my membership expire. Now an old roommate is trying to contact me (whom I didn't like). Not being a gold member is my excuse for not contacting her back.

I might pay the $15 if there was somebody listed that I really wanted to get in touch with. Most of the people who are listed from my class are people I didn't like back then and I can't imagine I would like them now. I am plenty curious about lots of them, but not $15 curious. If the info was free I would sit and read it, and I MIGHT even e-mail a few folks, but it's really not worth it to become a paid member.

I did get an e-mail once from a guy who used to live down the street from me. Not creepy. We used to be friends. He was just wondering what ever became of me. I wrote him back and told him I am very plain and boring and in a happy marriage so he hasn't written much since. :rotfl:

It used to be free, and to me it wasn't even worth it then. I found that very few people actually write much about themselves, so unless you really have a burning desire to email someone, it's $15.00 to learn that Betty Sue Smith is now Betty Sue Studebaker. Woohoo.

I'm a gold member. I reconnected with several friends from high school. I send daily e-mails to one friend that moved during freshman year. It was worth the $15 IMHO.

I'm also a gold member. It's only $15, but I'm still not sure it's worth it. I did get back in touch with some old friends though -- no one I couldn't live without!

If you want, PM the info and I'll see if I can save the pic and email it to you.

I was a gold member for about a year. It was worth the money for me since I moved a lot growing up (military brat) and lost touch w/some very close friends. I became a gold member and have managed to reconnect with not only my best friend from high school but 4 other good friends as well. I let my membership expire after that. If you really want to reconnect w/someone it's worth it. Otherwise, it's not.
