Classic DIS threads

What about the girl from NJ who was a ballerina? I don't remember the details, but I know she got caught in a bunch of lies. Also, there was the woman who claimed to be in the High School Musical Ice Show touring company, and some how someone busted that lie wide open. We've had a lot of liars on here.

I'd like to read those if anyone remembers the titles. Sometimes the DIS is better than daytime and prime-time TV!

Oh, and the poster whose wife signed into his account and said he was having an affair with a woman on the Dis and she caught him. I remember the posters name, but I don't want to get in trouble for posting it. Think, English College+ Elephants and Clowns workplace.

Or about the one where the woman was having the affair with a very "upstanding citizen" in town and wanted to take him to Disney World while the man's wife and children were away. The "I'm having an affair but he's/she's such a moral person" threads are always interesting.

Going back a long ways, but the thread that hooked me on the DIS in the first place was "The Corn People" thread. Anyone else remember that one - a DISer had seen a family all eating cans of corn on Main Street. That was truly hysterical and I still can't buy a can of corn without laughing.

I was trying to remember one the other day where someone (possibly someone for whom English was not their first language - I'm not sure if we ever figured it out) started a thread asking a question but used a word that none of us could ever figure out what she was talking about. It sounded pretty normal except for that one word. I don't think the OP ever posted again, and I can't remember the funny word (which sort of took on a life of its own for a while) so I can't find the thread. But it was entertaining for a while. I'm guessing it was probably back around 2004 or 2005. Anyone else remember that ?

I always wondered what happened to that poster. Did the marriage last? Were they able to patch things up? Or did she end up killing him and burying him in the backyard with his computer?

That incident happened many years ago. You'd think if his marriage didn't last, as was likely, he would have been back at the DIS by now. If his wife had murdered him, that would explain why he never came back.

This reminds me of a poster who joined the DIS right before that guy did and I always suspected it was the same guy. This was quite clearly a troll and the post was kind of funny. He was pretending to be German and he owned a pastry shop or something like that. OH, I think his name was Lederhosen or something like that. Sound familiar?

OMG, someone on this thread mentioned the "cats are better than kids" woman!!! I forgot all about her!!!!!! I hope someone in that thread has a link.

ETA: Does anyone remember the girl who lived in her parents basement and they would eat her food?? Oh please tell me someone remembers that one. I wish I could remember people's screen names!!!

He was a regular, I'll never forget his nasty avatar picture (100pts if anyone else can remember what it was), but I don't remember seeing him until after Lederhosen and I don't know why, but I assumed it was the same person. OC may have been here a lot longer than I give him credit for in my memory.

I can't believe all these threads are coming back to me. One was linked from the Cruise board, about the woman and her DH who took a DisneyCruise and then complained about how kids were everywhere.

One from the Budget Board: "How to go to WDW on Welfare". (not the exact title, but you get the idea).

there was one on the family board where a woman was posting intimate details about her nasty divorce and subsequent child custody battles. she would post about how fearful she was of her ex and his "connections" with the local law enforcement and courts-but then go on and post in detail how she was going to do stuff that flat out violated the custody agreement.

she had a strong base of supporters and they were quick to attack anyone that did'nt fully support whatever crazy (and often illegal) scheme she was up to.

several months into the thread (it like a live soap opera-very addictive) someone pointed out that if she was so scared of her ex and his "connections" she would be wise to remove the kid's pics from her signature and maybe come up with a new user name (that did'nt list her hometown). she did so, and i guess because she felt safer with a new identity started posting even more outrageous plans to thwart visititation-the kicker was, she ended up entering somekind of "vote for poor pitiful me" kind of win a vacation internet contest and ended up posting a link for all her disbff's to vote for her-when you hit the link you found her name, her kids names, where she lived, where she worked......yeah real bright move.

the thread exploded one night after the mods got sick of the name calling and fighting from her bff's, so the thread got closed. but the o/p tried restarting it at least 3 or 4 times-each time with it getting locked. i never saw her again so she may have gotten banned.


i always wondered if that thread may hold some kind of record for points being issued to participants. there were hundreds of posts where people would rant against someone else saying "yeah, you reported me and i got x number of points but..." then they would get more points and be off the boards for a couple weeks but come back and pick up where they left off.
