Hey guys!! I've been thinking about taking some classes when I'm down there. I've heard that if you take classes...you have almost no time to do things between classes and work. So, unless the classes are GREAT....I would rather skip them. (I'm not getting any credit for them at college...since I graduated in December). The classes I was thinking about were
1. Creativity and Innovation
2. Marketing You
3. Entertainment and Show production

Has anyone taken these course? What are they like? Is there homework? Are they helpful to you in any way? (meaning....will I learn anything from them that may help me in the long run...either on resumes or if I'd like to go further with Disney)

Hi Ashlie.

I saw that you were interested in taking some classes. I was a professional intern with education in college programs this past semester. I also took the Marketing U class during my college program (6 years ago!). I didn't receive credit for my class, but I managed to learn a lot from the instructors!

If you're interested in learning about yourself and creating an effective resume, I highly recommend taking the Marketing U class.

Now, you will have homework, but it's nothing any college graduate can handle. It's also a great place to network, meet new people and make new friends. If I can do it, you can too.

Plus, the instructors are top-notch and are loads of fun!

Good luck and enjoy your program!

I originally signed up for an experiential learning class (Exploring Communication). I dropped it after the second week (accidentally...I missed one class because I got the wrong time and my friends were coming the next week so I missed that one too and if you miss two classes they kick you out)...buuuut even if I hadn't been kicked out I probably would have dropped it at some point. One on my days off was scheduled on the day I had class, which started at 12pm so right in the middle of my day. It was like I only had one day off instead of two.

The first two sessions didn't give me the feeling that the class would help me do anything at all. We just sat there for a couple hours and that was it.
