Class party themes/ideas....

We're getting ready to start planning the Kindergarten Spring Party at school. It's just a generic party--not holiday themed at all. Our "fall party" had a camping theme. We couldn't do anything related to Halloween, Thanksgiving, or Christmas. So with this one we can't do anything dealing with easter or the like.

What sort of themes have your kids' school used? Any ideas you care to share?

My DD 1st grade teacher already told us that she always does a baseball theme spring party since its right around the start of opening day.

I love that idea-some people say the girls wouldnt like it, but I think it will be really fun, besides I know 3 of the 6 girls in DDs(including DD) class play softball

Flowers and a spring has sprung type party would be fun. I ALWAYS look forward to a sunny feel after a long, cold winter

I was going to suggest the same thing -- flowers/garderning -- lots of options with this idea.

OP -- what do you need ideas for : food, crafts ????

We'll need to fill an hour of time with one craft, some games, and a snack. A spring/gardening theme sounds nice. I'm pretty much just looking for some basic ideas to take with me to the planning meeting. But I'll take whatever you want to give me. I'm already getting the idea to maybe make flower pots and put a bean in them to watch them grow.

Do you have the Family Fun party book? There is a whole party that's related to this theme? I know there is a sunflower cake/ butterfly jello jigglers & butterfly sandwich and some crafts ideas. You could also look on birthdaypartyideas.com

I don't know if these are still available/within the budget - but I got my kids these "Secret Fortune" plants in a can and it is really neat and worked (surprise surprise) -- I have no idea what kind of plant it will be -- but it has a message on it -- DD's message was Adventures Await with a horseshoe.

You can purchase butterfly larvae and watch them go through the life cycle. You can release them on the day of your party. You can also purchase ladybugs to release in your school garden.
