I've had my clarisonic for 3 years. I dropped it the other day and now it isn't working properly. While the handle still feels like it is buzzing normally the brush head is not oscillating. One week of washing the old fashioned way and I can already tell a difference in my skin.

1. Anyone had this happen and have suggestions for repair/troubleshooting?

2. If I have to replace it what's the best deal anyone has seen? Even on ebay new ones seem to be $150+

I don't really have any answers but I wanted to say so sorry! I would be devistated if that happened to mine. I can't live without it!

Did you try SkinStore.com? You can usually find 20% off coupons online. I have ordered from them before with my problems just not to buy my Clarisonic.

I have the Mia and really like it. Can you maybe look at that one since it is cheaper?

Is the MIA just smaller? I have the classic and it only has one speed so I am used to that

I have a MIA and I think it's just smaller. It only has one speed.

Sorry that happened. I've only had mine for a month or so and I LOVE it!

As a PP mentioned, check out skinstore.com. They are always running a promotion and the current one is $20 off $100 purchase or $50 off $200 purchase.

The Mia regular price is $119.

That's where I purchased mine from. :)

I think the handle is smaller on the Mia but it uses the same brush heads as the regular Clarisonic. It only has one speed. I think they recently came out with the Mia 2 that has 2 speeds.

I think I saw this on an ABC news piece...the person testing it used it for removing glow-in-the-dark make-up...one side with the clarisonic and the other with plain cleanser. There was a huge difference! My question: I very rarely use make-up, and when I do, it's minimal. The news piece said it cleaned your skin so much better that it allowed better absorbtion of moisturizers. I'm 45, and I'm noticing changes in my skin texture. I'm wondering if it would be worth the investment for me.

Any advice?

Thanks!

ETA: I have fair skin, and I only use a cleanser and an SPF moisturizer. If I use anything with an exfoliant, my skin gets red and blotchy...not pretty. I'm worried about the vibrations on my skin and possible skin damage.

Would you consider another brand? Here's a youtube video reviewing this item. Replacement brushes available here.

I have the Olay brush - no complaints. *Youtube* review here - she's quiet, turn it up.

Thanks for the suggestion. I bought my daughter the olay brush. I did not get the same results using it. I like it better than traditional washing but the spinning didn't leave my skin feeling the same.

It is very gentle and they do have a sensitive skin brush. I don't think it would damage you skin in any way.

I also have the MIA and couldn't figure out the advantage of buying the original unit.

Anyway, I have acne and use retin-A. Since using the Clarisonic I have noticed my skin doesn't need the retin-A daily which is nice. I can use it every other day. Also, I have found that I cannot use the MIA more than once a day without my skin feeling too dry. I agree with the OP and could not go without it now. I think if you buy one at Sephora you can return it if you don't like it. At least that's their general return policy. You could double check with the store.

QVC sells the Clarisonic and I've seen it as their Today's Special Value several times. I know this doesn't help much if you need it right away but their deals seemed pretty good and came with extras. Good to hear your review of the Clarisonic as I've been considering one. I'm 58 and will still get acne if i'm not careful but hey, no wrinkles either, lol.

I purchased the Clarisonic Mia this afternoon. I went through my Amex card to get extra rewards points, found a $25 online coupon, and got free shipping. :thumbsup2 I paid $94, but tax brought it to $108. It's being shipped UPS 2 day ground (I think....).

Thanks for your input! :thanks:

where did you find the codes?

i was shopping for one recently and found that skin store with 20% off was the best deal. I also looked at the qvc deal, it was good, you got an extra brush head. And sephora had it for full price. I got mine 3 weeks ago and love it!

Just coming in to say that I've been wanting a Clarisonic for a while now! I just can't bring myself to splurge on it. Maybe for my birthday/Christmas!

oh trust me... it was a major stretch for me too! i went back and forth trying to justify it over the olay one. but the folks on the makeup thread convinced me! i will tell you that for me it really has made a difference. I have combination skin with oily t-zone. I would have to use powder and blotters most days mid day. Since clarisonic, my oilyness has decreased a lot! my pores are clearer and dry skin is gone. I know it is a lot of money! but i think its worth it. I bought just a Nuetrogena cream cleanser for it and use the deep pore brush , they recomend changing them every 3 months. Hope this helps! The skinstore deal is pretty good, just google skin store coupon code and they come up for 20% off......

I apologize if I'm out-of-line with posting guidelines, but I used the Beauty Bar website. The code is "bbclarisonic" for $25 off a purchase. They ship free for anything over $39. If you have Amex Rewards, you can get additional rewards with this website.

I used it this morning for the first time, and my skin tingles. It's a tiny bit red, but I'm sure that's from the vibrations and stimulated blood flow.

DH has the original, and I have a Mia. I got the original 5 years ago when it was the only unit available. When he started to use it, I just got him his own brush head and we would change them off and on. He because as obsessed as I did when he didn't get bumps from shaving anymore.

Luckily, I was able to win a Mia at work 3ish years ago and that solved our switching problem. At first, I noticed the Mia didn't have as much power (because of the speeds), but then I got used to it. Now with the Mia 2... you have options. I am in love with the deep pore brush head. I use it with Clinique Acne Solutions wash, or Neutrogena's Acne/Redness Gel wash. I like both. I don't have acne, but since I'm oily, I like a good dose of salicylic acid.

My skin definately loves it, and if I forget to charge it for a week... I notice the difference.

I have not purchased a face scrub or a mask since I've had it, simply because I don't need them anymore. The money saved there is significant.

I think it's a great investment. Be sure to register it online and if something happens to it they can replace it.

Rarely do we see any problems with them (I sell them at work), but in 5 years I believe I've seen 2 returned with issues. One wouldn't charge (a year or so ago), and the other was brought back last week... it didn't want to turn on, but then all of a sudden, it turned on by itself and wouldn't turn off! It was possessed!! These are very very rare cases and we took care of them with no issues! If you have any questions :) Just ask!

My Mia came in the mail today. Ooooh happy face. I didn't notice it having less power than the classic. In fact I thought the vibrations were quite strong in a good way. I was used to just one speed with the classic. I actually like the smaller size it fits in my hand better. Plus they come in cute colors now:lovestruc

I've used mine about 5 times and I think there was a noticable difference in my skin by the third use. It felt much smoother, and my pores are definintely cleaner. DH started using it, and he likes it too. I take the head off after each use to dry it out - I don't want it to get gunky underneath.

I'm very pleased~!!! Thanks for all the helpful info!

Hi!
I bought a Clarisonic Mia and started using it in early December. I had bought something similar to the Clarisonic a few years ago, hoping to save the expense. That seemed ok until I got the Clarisonic. I got a super deal on the Mia on askderm.com, $78 out the door. I had to buy it! In my experience it is really "all that". I used to have some horizontal lines across my forehead that I didn't like. I am also 45. I think the fact that the Clarisonic is getting all of the dead skin off besides deep cleaning is actually making these lines go away. Sounds kinda crazy, but I swear it's true. The Mia came w/ a sensitive brush and a regular brush. I didn't read instructions, I stuck the sensitive brush on first. I like that one. I keep trying to get my DH to try it, and he could use the regular brush head. Since he has beard hairs he has to worry about (no beard, he shaves).
I'm pretty sure the Mia is just smaller. The classic Clarisonic has more speeds I think, but also cost a lot more. I thought I wouldn't be happy w/ the smaller Mia, but it isn't that small. I don't wear a lot of makeup either, but definitely wear sunscreen daily. Checkout slickdeals.net for deals on Clarisonic. Just set up a deal alert. Love that site!:wizard:
