a good , clean close GO TO on last minute trips and such.

How is the above, or anything better and as close for $60 a night?

thanks

:grouphug:

We stayed there last December on our arrival day, and found it to be clean and safe. It's very close to Downtown Disney, too. I'd definitely recommend it :thumbsup2

Perfectly fine for a short getaway. We've stayed there several times, sometimes the night before checking into a Disney resort or just staying for the weekend. Safe, good location, and you can usually get a pretty good rate. Rooms are clean and updated. The ones that face I-4 can be really noisy, so ask for a room facing the parking lot.

I went to trip advisor and found enough complaints about beg bugs and other bugs at this resort. I wanted to stay here for the price, but I was scared to do it. Also, their restaurant does not get good reviews. I heard the I-4 side is noisy, too. The reports say it's an old place, too.

From the posts here it sounds better than I thought. I think you will be hard pressed to find a closer place for the price.

Last December we stayed further down the same road and paid twice the price.

was thinking about bugs. but aren't all the hotels there (aside from wdw) having bug reports?

sigh

I do admit that on one stay, there was a rather large roach/palmetto bug in the shower when we checked in, but its Florida! I didn't think it was a cleanliness issue. There's a lot of ponds and plants around, so there are going to be bugs. Now bed bugs would be a problem, but the rooms always seemed clean to me.

The resort is older, but the rooms are all updated. The restaurant wasn't great and was really crowded some mornings, but there are lots of other choices close by.

I don't think I'd stay there for a week, but a night or two for somewhere to sleep at that rate and location, I think it's a decent choice.

I have never stayed there but you asked for other places I have friends that have stayed here:

Bryan's Spanish Cove
13875 State Road 535, Lake Buena Vista, Orlando, FL 32821

(VERY close to DTD ) and loved it

I have it booked for Feb myself through booking.com you can sometimes get a really good price ( no fees through booking.com not even a deposit due to hold it )

Have stayed here 3x over the past few years. Its safe, clean n cheap. Close to food n dtd. I recommend it. Never had a cleanliness issue. The one thing i dont like is no free bfast. But theres fridges and nicrowaves in the room. We just bring some food.

We stayed one night in December before checking into our disney resort. We hated it. The lobby area was nice and clean but our room was horrible and extremely small. It looked like it had fresh paint but the carpet was gross and the beds horrible. I was so thankful we only stayed one night. We also had a hard time getting into our room, the door handle was messed up and we had to practically kick the door in to get it to open. Also hated the elevators, they were scary!

Yikes & thanks. Any other similar yet better suggestions?
