I traded 66 points into the Claremont for a couple of days in San Francisco. Originally I wanted to go to the White Swan Inn (where I would have spent 3 days not 2).
To be honest I was disappointed. While the rule of thumb is that trading points for non-Disney spots isn't a good trade it is especially true in this instance. Had I paid cash I could have gotten spa treatments for me & mom in addition to the room. Plus they charge fees for everything...for parking, for using the spa.
And...Oakland is too far from San Francisco to be a good springboard for touring. Fortunately we had never been there before so everything was interesting but still...
The best use of this resort is as a spa...and if you are going to use it as a spa your best bet is buy a package not use points. It would be nice if Disney renegotiated to include at least 1 spa treatment in with the points.
