Does anyone know if the route of the new "Clam mobiles" is the same as the old route of the SeaCabs, or have they re-routed the track? I'll be going next weekend, but I'm kind of curious if antone has been through there yet.
And are the Hydrolators gone as well?

I do know that the Hydrolators are gone. I am waiting for some on ride video. The thread "nemo ride" has a review. Doesn't go into detail about the track of the clam mobiles.

I never rode the sea cabs. So I cannot comment on the differences. I will be interested in to hear that also.
The clamobile is a VERY slow ride. If I had to describe it I would say they are a cross between a doom buggy and a part of a parade float.
Imagine a doom buggy, only no lap bar, high upper back arched and curved, shaped like a shell, with smaller version as the matching front that covers the leg area. You can almost imagine the clamobile on top of a parade float with Ariel waving from it. Very bright vibrant colors of deep coral, pale coral and light and dark greens. Some clams are all the shades of coral. Some have the green on the outside.
The track winds snake-like a little. But no sharp corners, drops, turns, etc. The clamobiles always face forward. They are very close together, side by side, all facing the same direction.
Continuous moving track, usually. When we were on it, the ride did nearly stop a few times due to loading and unloading wheelchairs. The ride just slowed to a barely noticeable moving crawl during this time. On the clamobiles for wheelchairs the front of the clam swings opens like a door.
Very dark area, except for what is highlighted, which is quite a bit.
It is very well done. And I think adults will enjoy the ride, if for nothing more but a cool relaxing place to sit. :lmao:

OK, I guess you are saying that you have ridden on the Clam mobiles, so my next question is, at the end of the ride, do you get off onto a people mover walkway, and does it still come out into the bottom floor of the "aquarium" near the escalator?

Yes, I recall a people mover walkway because I remember thinking they probably have to change off the CM walking that treadmill. ;) It was similar to the end of Haunted Mansion. But emptied to the right and not as long of a walk off stretch (that I noticed anyway).
I left as soon as I got off the ride. But I think it was letting guests very near Turtle Talk with Crush. I remember seeing the usual line for that and the gift shop was just beyond that.
I really did not notice much and don't know my way around Living Seas all that well. I have not spent that much time in there. (Mostly just recently and to see TT w/Crush.)

Are you saying that there used to be a place inside The Living Seas where you rode something? Where was this?
If so, I feel really stupid for never seeing it!! And if not, what were the Seacabs?

Yes, it was a very short ride called the sea cabs. You had a choice of riding them or the hydrolators down to Sea Base Alpha. You moved slowly past a series of windows, on a downward slant, to the lower floor of the Aquarium. This was all before the modern aquariums began to install the glass tunnels, and was very cool when it opened. Disney closed the sea cabs somewhere around 2000, and since that time only operated the hydrolators. The new Nemo and Friends ride follows the same path, but with about 250 extra feet of new track added in the old Q area. They replaced the old sea cabs with the new "clam-mobiles". I get to see it next week. It looks very cool.

In the original Living Seas, you rode the Hydrolators down to the sea floor.
Then you rode the Sea Cabs into Seabase Alpha. :thumbsup2

Actually the Seacabs were open until at least July of 2001 because I rode them then and that was my 1st trip to WDW.
